If you're doing this before every event, seems like you're not going to the track that often

It's been a while for sure. If I go alot then things like the coolant, and diff oil/trans oil gets changed a little less. But the alignment is a for sure as I commute 100 miles a day in the car. And if you have the time/money it's good to keep the vitals refreshed. It's true though if I go a few times a month I do a little less between.

Ray,
The standard issue track tires - 255 RA-1's. I will probably go up to 275 R888's here soon.

Rear Bumper Venting.

The other part about going to the track, tons of crap in trunk.

lol, quite few things have changed for me since I started tracking my evo. No more driving the car to the track, bought a trailer. And after couple events I have lost interest in driving my evo on the street, it sits more and more in the garage. The interior is coming apart more and more. About diffs fluids and oil, it gets changed every 4-5 track days. I have put less than 2000 miles on my evo in almost 2 years. A year before that I put 30K on it

I try to track as much as I can, sometimes I'm doing 4-5 track days a month

Oh, what's that rear bumper cooling doing? I mean the purpose, and is it really worth doing? The first time I see something like this... What are the benefits?

It's venting to relieve the high pressure area that builds up inside the bumper cover. Most people call it the parachute effect, as the rear bumper pretty much acts as a parachute to slow down the car. So the vents let the air out of the parachute. It's pretty common on drag race Hondas and a few of the Evo drag guys do it as well.

I just got a little commuter car recently and the EVO will be seeing much less street duty as well. My car has 90K on it, and it sees so many commuting miles between track days that the fluids could use the change usually. 4-5 days a month of track time is sweet - that's a lot of brake pads and tires!

yea, but you know how it is. Once you're hooked, that's it. Unfortunately we have winter here, so I have to use all summer track days I can. No tracks starting Nov till April.

that seem like a lot of weight in your evo more weight means quicker wear on your brakes

Are there walls in that wooded section? It looks like if you lose it you go into the trees!

You're not supposed to bring that up, I've seen a few Porsches come into the shop my friend used to work at having punched a tree.

As for the weight and the brakes issue... it's not like that stuff is in the car while your on track . It sits in a big pile on the paddock.

Finally... a show and shine thread about actually driving your Evo the way it was meant to be driven. Even better that you are like me, and load up your car full of equipment, not just a big money trailered car. Looks good. I am jealous of that track.
