Rear Bumper Venting - No more Parachute

This idea isn't new, and I know some of the drag race guys have done it. Added some venting to the rear bumper to help reduce the parachute effect of the rear bumper cover at speed.

Install is pretty basic. Tape off the bumper, use the vent as a stencil, cut the bumper with a jig saw, chisel out some foam, rivet the vent in place!

Alot of civics around here do that. Very intelligent but I wouldn't do it to my car....

Wouldnt an under body or rear diffuser take care of the parachute effect?

That's next. But this was an easy first step and I think some amount of air will always be trapped in the bumper even with a diffuser.

I can't tell from the pictures, but are the vents just open or do they have some sort of mesh over the holes? Either way, nice job!

No mesh as of now, they are open. I've considered adding mesh though it's probably a cleaner look that way.
