New Badges -- There's a problem here!

Ok, I'm not posting this thread in an effort to badmouth a vendor, I'm just sharing an experience. So a few weeks ago I ordered some new badges from Lancershop. I ordered carbon fiber Mitsubishi emblems for the front and rear of my TB VIII, along with a black UK trunk badge. I've had a chrome UK badge and was tired of it and wanted a more subtle look so I ordered the black one. I also got a carbon fiber Ralliart badge.

When the order showed up it was just the front Mitsu emblem and the ralliart one. I called lancershop and they were out of the black UK badge and the rear CF Mitsu one even though the website showed them as "in stock". They had no idea when they'd be getting a new shipment in of the ones I was missing. Normally I wouldn't mind waiting had I known beforehand that they were backordered. But I wouldn't have ordered any of them if I couldn't get all of them at the same time. Anyway, I called them and figured out that they did have a UK trunk badge for a IX in stock. I told them to just swap me for that one and I'd leave the IX off and have it just say "EVOLUTION" which I'm fine with. And I would be left with just waiting for the rear CF badge. Well, the trunk badge showed up today so I took a little time and installed it tonight. The one that came was actually one of the aftermarket ones they sell that has all the individual letters and a template to help get them placed properly. On a good note is had all the letters for an VIII or IX so I was getting the right one after all.

For any of you that have this badge already you will know that each letter has adhesive backing on the back of each letter along with a clear film on the face of the letters to protect them. Removing the protective film is the final step.

So I get the template placed properly and each of the letters applied. I removed the template and then started removing the clear film from each letter. As I'm doing so I realize that all the letters are a matte finish except for the "E" and the "I" which are more like a satin (slightly more glossy) finish. I'm not satisfied with how this looks as it's very obvious that they are different. Don't ask me how this happens since they all come in the same package.

Anyone else experience this? I'm planning on calling lancershop tomorrow and seeing what I can do about it. Hopefully I'm not hosed and forced to just order a new badge.

Here are a couple pics.

mine was the same but not at first. i ordered mine last year sometime and they were all matte finish.......well the X and the V messed up on me due to washing the car, no problem so i ordered a brand new set all from lancershop so that i could replace the two messed up letters and then have the rest for backup....

well needless to say that whole set they sent me was all in satin finish.......oh well i put it on anyways and since i have a white evo you cant really tell on mine......lol

You actually called Lancershop? I never saw a phone # when I was trying to sort out my gauge pod order. I could only use their online Live Help, which netted me 3 different answers, everything from already shipped to back ordered for 2 weeks. Needless to say, I canceled the order and took my business elsewhere. I had heard the mixed reviews and was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they certainly didn't win me over.

Well, I say I "called" them but yeah it was just talking to their "Live Help" person who was actually quite helpful. One of which actually called me on the phone a few days later since she was checking on the status of the backordered stuff. That was decent service. I'm hoping that service will continue and I can get it sorted out.

I had no idea they had different finishes for these things. There's no way to know since all you're doing is ordering the "BLACK" badge. Hopefully there's a way to get it right without too much headache.

I'll try to snap a pic of the front CF badge tomorrow. I haven't put it on yet and I'm still waiting for the rear badge.
