For the heavy modded or sick looking evo's
I make plenty of money to mod an EVO, but with a wife, 2 kids, day care, schooling, nanny/babysitters, renting now but pretty soon to have a mortgage, and a 2nd car to maintain, i feel it much more difficult to pull the trigger on mods my heart desires even though i have (thank god) plenty of money. I guess I just think of the kids/wife everytime I get something and make sure there is plenty of money for a rainy day before I justify getting something. Thats probably why my EVO is not "heavily modded" yet.
I am 30 by the way.

It's not always what you can afford, it's what you should afford. Vary lives have different priorities, i.e., single vs. married with kids.
I am sure as a few have already said, are dumping every single penny they make into their cars. I am sure there are a few that have racked up 10k+ credit card debit, and I am sure there are a few that just make good livings and can afford to buy parts over time, and I am sure there are a few who get money from their parents.
Other things to consider aside from salary are their living situation. Do they own a place or are they living with someone for free? My only debt is my mortgage, if I could get free room and board with my parents I'd be swimming in an extra few grand a month.
Don't sweat what other people have. You'll be a lot happier.

(but i give them $1080 a month to pay the mortage, how awesome it would be to have an extra $12,000 a year mooching off my parents)
most of the guys with sweet rides that are young all live with their parents still. Once they get their own place thats nice suddenly they make a part-out thread on here and parts start flying off the car. Then again most ofhte young guys with modded evos i know aren't maing more than 50k yet.
I drive around and i see some really nice evo's or heavily modded evo's but the thing i dont understand is all the drivers seem to look yunger then 30yr old....im wondering how do they afford all the things on the car i know its not cheap!?
is there something im missing out on or something im missing??

go to school get a degree get a nice job, or , or win the lottery you have a better chance at waiting for a mony tree to grow waiting for lottery
OMFG, you pay 1080 a month "rent" to your parents? I hope there's a deeper more personal reason for that... Or that the housing prices in MA are insane... 1080 a month would easily buy me a pretty freaking nice condo or a decent townhome here in Salt Lake.
you won't do it!
A little bit of column A, and a lot of column B.
