23, worked for the post office as a mail man, go to school full time now and worked for many years waiting tables too. I got rent/direct tv/auto payment/auto insurance/cell phone/electric/(couple hundred bucks left to pay on some cards). The nice thing is I live with my GF so we split rent, and utilities. (thank god i can steal my neighbors internet via wireless card that saves me another $60 per month right there)

My build should be complete soon. I owe a little over 2 years left on my car loan, once its paid off I have a tough decision to make. Work hard to come up with 10% or sell the evo when , we get married and buy our first house (been with her for 4 years now so i need to mod her left ring finger now )

Plus no one says you have to have a fully built AMS race car that would cost $120,000 to make run 8's. You can buy stuff used (everything except clutch/transmission) in my opinion. Wait for deals, and do it when its possible.

I started my build a year ago, and thank god it wasnt my daily driver or else i would have been screwed.

P.s sometimes (most of the times) i am broke. thanks alot eVo

jesconnection.wwdb.biz pays for my evo, and mods @ 23. In order to make some good money, u have to work for yourself. if you make10,20, 30 bucks an hour, imagine what the owner makes. Forgot to mention a 3 yr old boy, 3month old girl, and a wife. 2 other cars, and all the normal bills.

I guess I just think of the kids/wife everytime I get something and make sure there is plenty of money for a rainy day before I justify getting something. Thats probably why my EVO is not "heavily modded" yet.

I am 30 by the way.

Im in the same boat as you 2 kids one on the way wife prior military so the GI bill helps and ive been in active duty Air Force 7yrs to this day exactly. Im 24 now bought the evo when I was 21 and single with 1 kid. I rent in Fla now a house and rent is cheap. The housing market here sucks and i know im getting orders soon thats why I dont own a house. My evo is modded but like Dr. SS family first and bills before a mod and im thankfull when my wife gives me the OK. We always have money first and foremost.

Kinda sorta... depends on what industry. While I would almost definitely enjoy working for myself, it would take a while to match salary + health + 401k + bonus, yada yada.

it's all in where you live
near me a decent condo is in the 330-380 range
a decent home is in the 350-420 range

both are climbing

But... whatever tickles your fancy.

Im 21, Occupation- CAD Draftsman for moderate sized Structural Engineering firm (Our company split and the half that was purchased is designing the freedom tower's structural system). I dont have kids, or my own house (split rent with a bunch of drunk friends) so all my money is funneled into the EVO or my 06 CRF450R.
The trick is to spend as little on the girlfriend as possible but make it seem like tons.

Big thanks to the parents for financing my edumacation, im stardin to c resultz!

I figured I would buy the Evo and have it paid off by time I got out of school. Then I would have a nice car that's paid off, and be ready to buy a nice house without having to worry about a car payment.

No credit cards, no personal loans, just a broke bank account
great advice for college students !!!!

My household income is well into the 6 figures and I have bolt-ons. Between 3 car payments, mortgage, bills, 401k/investments, saving for a bigger house, ......you guys get the point. I've been wanting a big turbo since I bought the car but haven't been able to justify buying it yet. Almost pulled the trigger on the project and then stepped back. I decided to buy a meth kit to hold me over for now though....haha. Some people have money and some don't. Some people have priorities and some don't. It's all in what you want in life.

I worked 70+ hrs a week for a year to pay off my evos finish up my cars and get a house. so stop with the bashing of young kids unless u know
