Rubber Trunk Badge!?

My girlfriend ordered the imported Mistu UK "Evolution IX" trunk badge for me from Lancershop. I'm a little disappointed. It's a foam rubber material with chrome paint on it, and It came on a strip but the letters are unevenly spaced and unevenly angled. I thought it was supposed to be a hard plastic, and I thought the letters were going to be aligned perfectly on the strip for easy install. This looks like it's going to be a pain in the a$$ to make each individual letter straight and spaced out right. You can bend the letters very easily and they feel cheap, and this badge isn't cheap, $80! Is this a real deal imported Mitsu UK badge like Lancershop claims?

at least put some pictures up of it (it is called "Evo Show & Shine) then people will be able to help you out more.
I never had one but from what it sounds like its prob a fake...i dont know.
On another thread i remember someone saying that they ordered that badge from lancershop and he got the fake.

Evo Show & Shine is for discussing any non-performance items, like my chrome rubber UK trunk badge from Lancershop. An exterior appearance mod definitely qualifies as a legit thread in Evo Show & Shine. And thanks for the "If you can pick it up, it's real", very helpful information indeed.

Pictures wont help, it looks fine. The cheap rubbery foam material that it's made out of makes me ask if this is a real deal imported Mitsu UK piece. I was expecting hard plastic, not chrome gumby letters.

Honestly man - I've ordered 4 things from lancershop. 3 of them I returned.

One, a 'rare gem carbon fiber diamond star' for the trunk. It was CF tape cut w/ an exacto knife and pasted over a chrome star. The CF was cut so unevenly it was like a grade school art class project that got a D-.

What you're decribing doesn't sound OEM to me.

This is the description on Lancershop. Check the tech tip.

Product Description

The Lancer EVO 9 badge says Evolution IX in BIG chrome letters and mounts on the trunk of your EVO 9.

Badge will easily mount on your lancer with the self adhesive material on the back.

Imported directly from the UK and very hard to find.

TECH TIP: Real Mitsubishi United Kingdom emblem and NOT a cheap vinyl sticker or the cheaper knockoff badges that come with a cardboard template.

Part # SR010344

Details

Price: $81.95

I could have sworn i was in the audio section which i apologize for my recent comment.

Pictures will help. Instead of giving us several adjectives describing the item we can see it and give you a better analysis on what it may be.

I purchased the same badge and I wondered if it was legit or not, since a friend of mine has an evo 7, his trunk says "evolution VII" from the factory, but the letters are made out of hard plastic, and the letters I got are this kind of soft adhesive type. Another thing that got me to think it is not legit is that it did not come with any mitsubishi genuine parts sticker with a part number, like all genuine parts do.
I ended up installing it anyways and it looks good, but I am almost certain it is not OEM mitsu
Here are some pics since it is the show and shine section

Yeah mine didn't have any Mitsu genuine parts sticker on the package either. Did you and your friend put each individual letter on, or were they spaced and angled good enough on the strip to apply all at once?

the pics that lancershop shows looks exactly like you get. I doubt it is OEM but you can tell from the pics they show that the material isn't hard like the emblems that came stock on your evo. Other people that posted theirs are the samething. Everyone lancershop sells is that soft material.

Well, my friend's car (evo 7) came with the letters from the factory, but the letters I got were spaced and angled good on the strip, you should contact lancershop and let them know the letters got messed up on the strip, ask for an exchange or a refund in the worst case, hope that helps and good luck

i doubt that it's the real deal. I got a fake uk ix badge off of ebay and it's exactly how you described. Luckily i only paid $26 for it. I would return it if i was you
