When it finally comes to installing the engine and drive train, as long as I have all necessary parts, it should be fairly straightforward. The essential parts needed are:

Evo 4-6 motor mounts
Evo 4-6 fuel tank
Evo 4-6 RS rear subframe and diff.

From there I will just need to slightly modify the trunk floor, create mounts for the subframe and driveshaft, and things should just piece together. There will be tons of little things to figure out but that is the bulk of the problem for most conversions.

I have to use an RS rear subframe because it doesn't use the AYC feature. Other subframes come with AYC, and I would have to get a new differential. There is an Evo 4 RS subframe on eBay right now, but I'm almost out of cash now
The evo 5-6RS rear end is the same as the evo7-9RS rear end, so if you were planning on using evo5-6 stuff then you can easily get a hold of the bits you need from an evo8-9.

The only difference with the evo4 is that the aluminium subframe is slighty narrower because of the narrower track, also the 4RS rear diff is slightly different in regards to mounts and carrier.

I see. The only thing that I am really wondering about though is how much would all this cost roughly?

Aww, I hadn't seen this thread before, and thought you bought an actual TME. The real thing is beyond awesome.

Of yeah, if you are looking at going evo suspension rear end then you might have to get one of the arm mounts modified, as i've had a quick look at a base lancer and the upper arm front mount looks to be on a different angle compared to the evo.

Dang, none of this sounds like it is half bad- it really sounds like its just a matter of getting all the parts together. The rear end wouldn't be too hard right? As far as the fabrication would go.

Yeah the rear end is just a little bit different. Where the UCA connects, the angle of the bolts is opposite, so some fab work is needed.

And thanks everyone, it's a really fun project (when I'm not hurting myself in the process). I'll have some new photos coming tomorrow, as the car is up and running again! The TEINs feel great, but now my steering is off 20 degrees. I'll be getting an alignment next week.

Sorry for not having any new photos of the car (been busy with work), but in the meantime I was able to ****** these...

And although they are in need of a new paintjob, I managed to pick them up (with pads) for $150

NICE!!! Someone around the corner from my house has a broken up green mirage that i never see them drive. Im thinking about asking them if theyll sell it to me for my first car. I wanna convert it to a JDM lancer =] It looks soo tempting just sitting there in that boring green color and busted tail light

Didn't you know that this TME was once a normal Lancer?
