Water going inside the engine....
Ok, I was washing my car and I didn't like how all the water going down my hood goes into my engine. Because wouldn't this cause rust on some of the bolts it touches. I was wondering if anyone did anything to solve this problem. Thanks

EDIT: I also did a search and came up empty so sorry if this is a repost.

are you talking about the space between the windsheild and hood? if so dont worry about it, it drains out... its made to do that. Also as long as water doesnt get into your air filter its ok if your engine gets wet for the most part.
he talking about the hood vent
and i don't see the big deal, i've seen some evo's with rust around the bolt of the heat sheild over the exhaust, nohting a wire brush can take care of anyway i wouldn't even worry about it

i am sure there is not a big problem with the water going in the engine....it looks like it doesn't hit anything electrical...i mean everytime it rains water is going to go in there..i am sure mitsu took that into account....
but hey i see your in illinois also...i work in schaumburg so i am close to arlington heights...do you know of any meets coming up?

Two reasons that's not a good idea:
Very tiny bits of oil/junk from the leaf blower's engine can get shot onto the car.
The leaf blower can suck particles into its intake and shoot them at the car at the high rate of speed it works at which would likely put tiny pits in the paint which could lead to coat weakness over time.
Just not a very smart way to clean a car unless you just don't care about the paint job... and considering there's no clearcoat on it, we're all apparently going to be painting them in a couple years anyway, so go for it!

Exactly what I was thinking. I mean after all this isn't enamel paint.
As for water getting on the mainfold when washing, it's a hell of a lot easier to clean up than cleaning the damn wheels.
