Pics of Customized OZ spoiler on EVO

Since I had an OZ spoiler laying around, I decided to remove the middle post and paint it my EVO car color to see what it will look like.

I may end up selling this spoiler if I don't keep this look.... if the offer is right.

...updated to better pics...

I kinda like it. However, the third post is a feature on the Lancer wing that I enjoy having, since it doesn't look so aftermarket and rice-boy wannabe.

I like Evos with small wings, and I applaud your efforts to avoid drilling another hole. I'd keep it if I were you.

I really like the look with that spoiler on the EVO! The removal of that middle section makes a big difference in my eyes.

So what does the bottom of the spoiler look like? The area where you removed the center post.

Hey it seems like everyone really likes the OZ on your EVO. Did you remoove the middle part yourself? And can I have your wing?

The center post is held on by 3 rivets. I drilled/pulled/tugged/crimped with needle nose pliers on them to basically rip off the center post. After it was removed, body filler was used to plug the holes, sanded, made smooth and then the entire spoiler was painted. After the job was done, you can't tell that anything was there. Hope this answers your question. If it ever gets sunny, I'll take better pics...

Pick_a_Fro & others: My CF wing spoiler is not for sale.

FYI, the EVO comes with the wiring in the trunk lid for the brake light on the OZ spoiler. Just a simple plug and play installation.

Well done.

I personally think the center post ruins the look of the OZ spoiler. That looks damn good on your ride. One question I have. Has the stability of the wing been compromised any? Have you noticed any "STI like" flapping up and down?

Nice.....now go out and buy some OZ Chrono Evolution Rims and mount them on your Evo and you'll have one BADASS sleeper car.

The wing is stable and solid. It is not flimsy like the STI wing. It is less stable than it was with the post (by that I mean that I can move ~2mm um and down in the center if I push on it or pull up on it), but the rigitidy is still there and there is nothing to worry about. It does not move on its own at speed, like the STI wing. The only flexing you get is when you push down on it by hand.

did the holes line up or did you need to modify/drill new holes?

Plug and play. Same hole pattern for CF wing and OZ spoiler. No modification/enlargements required. I can swap wings anytime I want. 4 bolts, takes about 5 mins (after you initially remove the CF wing double sided tape).
