but let a freaking import driver sneeze and he's pulled over and ticketed
so ithink im going to put my front plate on (even though its just a fix-it ticket)

I have never run a front plate. My bracket wasn't mounted at the dealer.
Cadillac sure has come an amazingly long way in the past 4-5 years. But the Caddy isn't AWD. ANd using the CTS-V badges or FourVetter badges is for getting out of tickets...

Mine came from the dealer with a front plate bracket installed. I removed it, only to be left with a big nasty hole in the bumper cover. Did anyone else have this problem?
BTW, I've been driving my M3 in CA for over 4 years without a front plate, and I've never gotten a ticket (knock on wood).

I heard you can go to the police station and tell them it was stolen and they'll give you a piece of paper that says it's ok. How can they prove it wasn't?? Wonder if it'd work....
I removed mine as soon as I bought it and I have not been hassled yet. I am in VA and plated in MI so I think that is the reason that they leave me alone. As far as the hole in the bumper, I left the rubber grommet in there until I find something that closer matches. Most people do not notice unless they are at eye level with it anyway.

I am not sure if its the "Import" thing, or just profiling the driver.. in any case its just plain wrong. I drove a vette for Years with no front plate, had 2 camaros with no front plate, however I had a 75 dodge dart sport that I did get a no front ticket for.. That was over a VERY long period of time.. When I got my Evo, I got 3 no front plate tickets within 3 weeks (2 of them were within days of eachother) But in all honesty, its an Evo, and it was just after that damn 2F2F turd of a movie came out... I finally gave up and put my plate back on because I just didn't want to deal with harassment. I have cool vanity plates now, and the offset plate has grown on me, so I'll just live with it.
Man you guys are funny. I like the front plate cuz it serves a function. If you look at the angle, its angled to feed air to the intercooler (I facing down and to the left). So your plate is a functional peice.
When people say "Your plate looks funny" I say "I serves a purpose by directing air to my intercooler making it work more effiecent" they ALWAYS say "Thats really cool they thought to make it functional, its not so bad after all"
Also I like the way it looks cuz its kinda different
Hooptie

I went to take my front plate bracket off and that nasty hole is there in the bumper. Somebody said something about a grommet? Do they make/sell something that goes in the hole that might cover it up somehow? I took mine off, and it's just a hole, punched through the bumper. Looks real gay. Plate is back on till I can figure something out. Can anyone help?
