So anyone have a problem with spray can clear coat turning yellow after getting hot or after a year or so? I've heard this a couple times now, but sh*t the clear on my Brembos from the factory ended up turning yellow while peeling. I am using the VHT High Temp. Caliper Clear Coat....

My next shot at them will be black with a stencil in red rather than using the red hi-temp vinyl sticker, no clear.
Just my experience, hope that helps for track guys.

I used VHT also. I have had mine painted for almost a year with heavy track use, frequently getting over 1100 degrees. The clear has just gone away, not pealed at all nor turned yellow. My glossy black calipers are now matte black and the vinyl stickers burned off. They actually look pretty good matte.

Any pics of them Matte?
All i got.. 1600iso
It's kinda funny. I havn't tracked with the brakes yet. But a few hard backroad runs have slightly lightened the yellow. Its not as vivid as it used to be. But this is something only i would notice, lol. I'll throw up a pic in here after a few track days with my carbotech track pads. It only took one session to brown them my first time out. Im very curious as to how well these will hold up.

Well, good to know...What method did you use to paint them? How many coats of black & clear?? What method of "curing" did you use? I am not going to throw them in the oven for an hour @ 200 degrees like the can says...obviously I am going to use the other curing method and throw them on the car and get the brakes hot...haha...
You will just screw up the paint during install and bleeding without the paint fully cured.
There are a couple times during the process that you bake them at 600deg btw

I followed every step of the primer, color and clear baking instructions without dis-assembly. Everything came out fine

Just re-did mine Lotus Isotope Green. I didn't add the pearl coat though cause I think the color is hot enough without it. I also added a touch mor green& a brighter yellow to the formula.

Dayum there are some nice brakes in here... Mine arent on yet but here they are in Verde Ithaca. I'd like to do another brembo logo or possibly a personalized. Anyone with stickers on theirs have problems with the heat on the stickers...
