Sorry, Im a bit slow today. You wanna know if its possible to change the 3" projector lense for another 3" lense? why would you want to do that?

Its been ages since I saw this info but:
I think I may have seen a pic of USDM CT9A projectors that had the "step" cutoff shield as opposed to the "slope" cutoff shield found in JDM projectors. I dont know much about USDM CT9A projectors but have you already tried the "washer mod" and i didnt work???

I want to know can you change the lens on the Usdm car that came with hid stock to the S2000 or Tsx lens or if you change the projector will the control inside the car to rise/lower the lights still work

no i havent tried, or know exactly how to do it. but i read once on an HID forum that it doesnt work on USDM evo projectors? I am not 100% sure if it does or does not. So i decieded to clear it up by asking you. If know find out anything please let me know

so you think if the USDM ones wont work becuase of the step cutoff? do you have a pic of comparison between the JDM ones and the USDM ones?

CT9A lens = 3" (this lens is fine. Just perform the "washer mod")
S2K / TSX / FX35 = 2.5"
Won't fit
If you retro the S2K or TSX projectors onto the OEM mounts then YES, the Rise/Lower controls will still work

Hmm, I can't think of a reason why the the USDM CT9A projector is unmodable. Wouldn't mind playing around with one of these to find out why. Wot the "washer mod" does is change the focal point of the lense to some how get more of the blue band. You can also reposition the cutoff shield further/closer to the lense but I have never tried this mod. Theres also "spacing out the bulb". This mod is may stretch your blue band wider across the beam pattern but it also reduces the brightness.
The washer mod is definstely the easiest to do.
Will try n source some cutoff shield pix for ya. Remember seeing it sumwhere. Prolly one of the retro fitting sites that I mentioned b4.

Nice work. I personally spent around $1300 for my JDM MR headlight mod. I bought a brand new set of JDM MR headlights for $750 and sent them off to lightwerkz for their $500 TSX retrofit. hell, I would have paid them extra for the S2000 mod if they would offer it. Sucks that they don't though.

Good to see that there are other ppl prepared to pay the bigger dollars to get non performance upgrades. Its not all about power.
Yeah, I imagine that Lightwerkz didnt wanna take on that project due to S2K projectors being too big for the low beam housing. Maybe alot of hacking was required and Lightwerkz werent prepared to do that.
I originally considered retroing:
- S2K in low beam housing
- S2k in high beam housing
- converting fog light to halogen high beam

instead im going
- FX35 in low beam housing (low/high beam)
- S2K in high beam housing
- fog light standard

You got any light output pix you wanna share? keen to see your results!

If you want I can take some pics + give you measurements / min clearances of the projector / low beam housing if you still wanna do that retrofit. Its pretty tight fit..

very sick retrofit man. I too am very big on lightling. I believe that you can never have enough of it if you do a lot of driving at night esp. A big reason why I went the MR route is the better HID's available on it. I didn't know the same lights were on the SE at the time.

Oh well, still love my MR and I'm excited to see the finished product here.
