You can also reposition the cutoff shield further/closer to the lense but I have never tried this mod. Theres also "spacing out the bulb". This mod is may stretch your blue band wider across the beam pattern but it also reduces the brightness.
The washer mod is definstely the easiest to do.
Will try n source some cutoff shield pix for ya. Remember seeing it sumwhere. Prolly one of the retro fitting sites that I mentioned b4.
here is a link to some pics of the evo projector disassembled

id really like to mod my projectors so there is more blue. I think i read somewhere that they are unmoddable beacasue the cut off sheild is attatched to the projctor? is that the reason why?

thanks

Looks good. I have the TSX projector retrofit in mine along with small modifications to increase intensity, width and cut-off . I originally wanted to do the FX35 + TSX hybrid, but the housing didn't give me enough room to do so.

Some pics:

S2000 will fit!!! You just have to trim the projector to BEAR minimum.
Dont go TFX!! Although it is one of the best small sized Bi-Xenon (Low & Beam) projectors, theyre are not renouned for WIDTH. This projector is good for retros where you:
- need a low and high beam for a "Reflector" style headlight housing that has low and high beam all in one eg. CP9A's (Evo's IV - IV)
or
- want to beef up your high beam. This set up on a CT9A will create a quad High beam (how often do you drive with your high beam on?)

Enjoy the wider projectors (S2000 or TSX) coz low beam is where you spend most of your time night driving.
TSX maybe easier to install in the CT9A low beam housing due having 2 mounting screw holes each side.
S2000 will require you to fabricate some brackets but this extra effort is worth it in the end.

S2000 projector:

Also, as requested. Pics of halos that I found. Dont go too blue. I recommend white (4300 - 4500K halos)

Here are some pics of my JDM VIIIMR projectors. They look pretty much the same. Both with FIXED and round cutoff shields. Only difference is:
USDM = "step" cutoff shield
JDM = "slope" cutoff shield

As I mentioned before, I achieved that blue band by using the "washer mod" only (4 x card board rings).

Im glad you went the TSX route! Did you do the retrofit yourself?
What mod is done to INCREASE width???

FX35 will fit in the CT9A low beam housing:

What info are you needing exactly? What projector will you be running?
These wont be on the car for a while. Im accumulating all my other mods together (custom tail lights, custom interior panels). Once the car comes out of the panel shop with the widebody installed then I will fit all these parts.
However, i will be posting light output pics when the heads are done. Just not on the car!!

Now this retrofit would also work for non-HID evos or no?

I have heard from members on EvoOz detailing that the non HID projectors disperse the light differently when subjected to HID lighting. None of these ppl have supplied any light output pix to suggest this occurance. I personally havent seen pix to suggest this either.
If anyone here is using HID in a non HID headlight could that please post some light output pix. say 10ft, 30ft + 60ft.
Also post any pix of the non HID projector bowl to compare with mine

This is the bowl design of my HID VIIIMR projector

This isn't anymore expensive than brand new Mitsu headlight assemblies. A brand new OE Evo headlight is a little over $1000.
