Dude its not about status. Go buy a seibon hood and you can see for yourself. If your one of those people who don't give a **** about the .2 inch gaps or the uneven 2x2 cf weave (scan your hood, you'll see that the seibon weave goes all over the place) and if you dun care about the hairline cracks that'll show up in 2 months and the slight yelllowing of the cheap gel clearcoat then yea SEIBON and 400 dollar cf hoods ftw man.

But if you really cared about quality, then I suggest you take a look at one of these things in person and notice the actual clearcoat, the perfect fit, and the overall cleanliness of this hood.

I installed it tonight, I'll have pics tomorrow after I polish it, I don't want to wake the neighbors up using the Porter Cable hehe. I weighed it too but the weighing method probably wasn't the best (weighed self, then weighed self + stock hood then Kansai). When I weighed each hood they were completely stripped - no grill, heat shield, weather stripping, etc. The stock hood came out to 17.2lbs and the Kansai 17.6lbs. Not as light as I was hoping so I guess I will just look at it

It did, however, fit very well. First attempt was close to perfect, just had to move it a little one way. Stock I had a little bigger gap on the passenger side so I paid attention to that. Everything grill-related went on perfectly minus the heat shielding. The foam weather stripping also transferred over perfectly. Shuts like the stock hood. Pics coming, late. **edit - had to give the gf props for helping me install it haha**

Very nice, you need to do a photoshoot. You have gotten a nice setup of parts going on lately.

Heres another teaser pic - washer nozzles are out so I can polish it easier. Don't mind the reflection or messy garage (or filth wheel/tire/car)
