Very nice piece, Wish I could have found a deal like that I would have been all over it. Looks like they are all around $200 now.

I have one of these that I purchased from an authorized ebay dealer, jnbdirect. The instructions indicated it as being direct OEM replacement, no cutting, welding or etc. Well all was good until I tried to install it in my 2006 Evo IX. I currently have the stock intake. I followed the instructions from Mishimo to the letter and found that the lower IC piping was in the way of the Mishimoto air box. No matter how I positioned it, either the lower IC piping was in the way or the stock battery tray was in the way.

Actually returning it. However if you are interested you can look for Ebay items by seller jnbdirect and I think he has a buy-it-now/best-offer ad there. I would say make him an offer. My understaning is Mishimoto is clearing these out of inventory.

By-the-way, just a follow-up. I have confirmed with Mishimoto that the Carbon Fiber Intake they have only fits up to the Evo 8. If you are an Evo 9 owner you may have make modifications to the intake or your OEM setup for it to fit.

I just got mine today and it looks great. I did a test fitament and with an Ebay UICP modeled after a Dejon UICP and a Tial BOV it seems to fit very well. The only thing I didn't care for was the black oxide hardware so I'm swapping that out for stainless. I'll put up some pics tonight if I can get the time to install it. I guess these will be a rare part if they're stopping production.

Here's a pic. It ended up being a PITA to get it to fit just right and I made a few scratches on the backside, but in the end after an hour and a Guinness it was done. It really completes the look of the engine bay. Ever since I put the battery in the trunk it's looked too open and bare.

Installed the Mishimoto on my 9! There really is no mods to do except removing parts that are in the way such as the stock airbox and brackets.
The only problem is the stock airbox bracket attaches to the stock IC pipe. It had to be removed to make room.

It is bigger than stock and cover up more area around the headlight.
Thinking about getting another headlight and making a ram air style straight through the fog and high beam just for kicks!
