CAD Wheel & Tire
That's pretty cool. I have zero experience using it but I've always liked seeing people post up there parts. It's very interesting to me. One more thing on a long list of stuff i'd love to learn.

Thanks for the support everyone! I'll keep you updated on the progress or if I run into any issues.
EvolutionTheory - Nice work on the gauge pod! That think looks pretty nice. It's always awesome to have something that you built. Also sweet that you have access to a SLS machine! I used to have access to one at school. In fact, the only person that knew how to use it left so me and a friend figured it out and got to use it a bunch for smaller parts.

It costs a lot more than what it would cost if it were to be produced and sold at stores. its a prototyping machine so it just gives you an idea of what it looks like, then the next step would be to get tooling made for the part which also costs a lot, and to have the parts made, which is usually in China or somewhere cheap. Its kind of an expensive process up until the point where they're on shelves being sold and making a profit. That's why I'm better off selling the idea to another company if they want it.

UPDATE!
So I've been working on other things lately and haven't had a whole lot of time to work on this. But I did get some things done. I made the major suspension components. I decided to do an adjustable coilover with adjustable shocks. I also got a copy of PhotoWorks so now I can make things look pretty. I'm still learning photoworks, so bear with me. Enjoy!

As a bonus, this is what i've been working on in the meantime. It's a commercial thermostat housing based on a design I drew out in 2D AutoCAD. I've used that as a guideline to help teach myself some more advanced surfacing features. FWIW
