The return of madricky

For all that may have been here when this forum was created back in 2003, I had a number of nicknames one of which was madricky. This goes back to the Boost Solutions days and the days when it was a big deal to run 11s. I can remember when people like Ryan and Smogrunner would give Doug and I crap and say that we were bsing about running 11s, but it was true. Now a select few are in the 8s and many in the 9s. Those old 2003 stock turbo days are gone and will forever be missed. Well in the midst of all my Iraq deployments I decided to build my Evo like everyone else these days. Doug Wilks at Topseed is responsible for the build and it was a painful one to say the least. I have the car back now and it has been running extremely strong for just a simple break in tune. I need to replace my thermostat, but other than that no issues and not so much as a single leak or puff of smoke. Everything is built minus the axels so I won't be launching the car any time soon. That's not that serious for me these days due to the fact that my life doesn't revolve around a 1/4 mile time slip. I have had the opportunity to destroy numerous crotch rockets, on a close course of course, lately. Well here are a few pics that I took with my blackberry so hope you enjoy. There are less than a 1000 miles on the motor and I just hit 30k on the car itself yesterday so the car looks brand new even though it's a 2003. Take care all.

Here are some of the major mods:
2.3l stroker built in atlanta at a local shop to Topspeed
stage 3 Buschur head
HKS 280 cams
Full Race Manifold
37r turbo with .82 exhaust housing
HKS DLI2 ignition
AMS intake manifold
Throttle body
Buschur race intercooler
Buschur exhaust
Aem Ems with 5bar sensor
Weldon fuel pump
3in supra intercooler piping
tomei cam gears
1600cc injectors

Actually, these forums were created in 2002, as myself and GPTourer can attest to

Great looking 8 and welcome back!

Oh yeah, I forgot to say something about that. But I think it was late 2001 actually. I haven't seen to many of those members with join dates back that far still post, though. I wish I had joined then, I had come across it, but didn't sign up till months later.

Wow, I had no idea it went that far back. That's cool. I was under the impression that it was created after the release of the Evo 8 in 2003.

I appreciate it. What's really awesome is driving it to work every day. So many haters tried convinsing me that it was no longer a daily driver.
