CBRD - "We fixed the glitch"

We are pleased to release these pictures of our revised time attack turbo setup... we had some inefficiencies with our previous twinscroll setup and vertical intercooler, as we suspected we might... but, we had to test everything first to see where it stood.

With our partnership with JM fabrication and the boys at Blouch, we re-engineered the entire setup...

JM fab was able to bring to life an intercooler design, intake setup, and manifold/o2 design (based on their current Vband Manifold) that we had sketched on a couple of sheets of paper.... I'm a great sketcher, but JM are even better at making those ideas a reality.

Through our technical partners at Blouch Turbo, we were able to have them machine the Tial Vband housing for our TAK33R turbo with custom anti-surge cover.... the turbo is able to be removed and reinstalled in apprx 4 minutes without draining the coolant or oil.... this means if we have a failure, or want to swap hotsides we can do so in a hurry, and without removing the rad, front bumper, front splitter or even the downpipe, or even jacking the car up.

We were seeing an unacceptable rise in IAT's with the vertical core in 90 degree heat... so the core was redesigned using the same core BR uses in their Race (thanks David) and we use on our CBRD bolt on evo 8/9 FMIC.

A lot of time and energy has gone into this project, and its finally coming full circle.... with the Diffuser being delivered to us next week (thanks David from DHP Composites) and a photo shoot for the cover of a major magazine... everything is coming close to completion.

after retuning next week, we hope to do some mechanical grip testing in about 5-7 days... then aero testing shortly after. We expect to be at the South Carolina and New Jersey TA events...

the car will also be on display at Petit Le Mans for Advan along with our truck and trailer.

Here is a list again of suppliers on the project:

Major Title Sponsors:

CBRD- well, lots of time and ideas, and paint, and widebody, and suspension package, and etc etc
Blouch turbo- Custom machined turbos and all of the original downpipe, catback, etc...
Avdan- all of our 12 sets of tires slicks and r comps
JM Fabrication- everything new and beautiful you see in this pic (plus another TA car we will be posting shortly)
MOTON- double motorsport dampers and engineering

Buschur- Stroker motor- and mounts- david's tune on the previous kit
Whiteline- all of our bushings

JMfab makes some nice quality ****, i was a amaze when i saw their small battery kit. It was clean, lined up perfectly and has the best look compared to all the other competition. Is that also their upper intercooler piping?

You guys are amazing, really, and you know it. This long wait will be so worth it. All the months/years building up to the completetion of this car will show everyone how sick your shop really is (even though everyone knows it already).

Congrats on the car and the shops progress over the past few years, and many more to come.

Hope to see this in OC on coastal highway again soon

You guys rock.

Looking good. Don't forget to hook up that lower radiator clamp

Can't wait to see the diffuser and bottom all rigged and see it hit the track.
