I had been running EVO 8 pistons and rods in my EVO 1 for about a year now. I have been fighting a misfire under peak torque with the E85 and I believe there was pre-ignition from wasted spark that bent a rod. So it was time to drop in some high compression (10/1) pistons and eagle rods. While the engine was out I decided it was time to repaint car. Going with a lighter porsche riviera blue. The engine compartment was previously red/white/blue . sometimes called captain America. Fired the engine up today and boy does she sound nice.

I think the porsche is to show that the color is origianlly from Prosche and how it looks on one i suppose.

Anyways, you should paint your valve cover.

 

Thanks guys. The Porsche was my motivation for the color change. The valve cover is a bit dull. Have plans to have it ceramic coated or possibly wrinkle red powder coat?

The new changes are flat out awesome. E-85 loves compression. The power band is juicy fat. There is so much low torque even with the dual runner mani removed. very pleased with the results.
