CP Car Detailing - 2005 Lancer Evolution & Exhaust Restoration

Here are a few pics I shot of my buddy's 2005 Lancer Evolution. Please excuse the dirty wheels which were cleaned the next day. I just want to share it with everyone. This time around I believe just one round of a fine polish was used, followed by a layer of Zaino. ENjOY

You should use some brighter lights.

detailers FTW! was a detailer for 4 years and still learning tricks daily. It takes an artist with time and patients to pull it off. Good work done here, next time take a before and after pic close up of the paint to truely see you're accomplishments.

tip- take a flashlight (focused light) and take a pic of it shining off the paint, you will see swirl marks like crazy, do that again when you're done and you will see all the time and hard work pay off infront of your eyes!

Evo Girlie: Hey! It probably took about 6 hours between washing, polishing, and Zaino application.

SyZyGy1394: The lighting conditions in general were difficult to shoot in. IF I added brighter lights I wouldn't be able to capture the reflectivity of the paint. All that would show up is the metallic flake pop'n. In this scenario I really was just trying to capture the reflectivity of the well-prepared paint.

Tundeclips: Thankfully, my partner knows how to wash his car so you won't be finding swirls in his paint!

Compared to this, which was a major corrective job:

The hundreds: The exhaust had a multi-step process to help bring back the shine, consisting of a quick detailer wipedown, steel wool application, porter cable polishing with Sonus aluminum/chrome polish, and Klasse All In One as a protective coat. We could have made it even better but figured this wasn't a show car and it was going to get crazy dirty anyways from all the salt and dirt on the road so we left it at that!

CHEERS and thanks for looking!
Ciro

Everything looks great. I have a exhaust in similar condition. I didn't think that it was possible to get it to shine again. Is steel wool and aluminum polish the only thing needed to get the job done?

The steel wool would offer the biggest bang for your buck. Work it in long enough and you will see results! Finer polish applications will yield swirl removal and the ultimate in shine. But it can be an extremely dirty job. Moreover, the remaining swirls were bugging me, but my partner made a great point. The vehicle is a daily driver, meaning dirt and salt will be attacking this surface. Once he wipes-down the exhaust after washing his car, even with a heavy concentration of car wash soap, it will be extremely difficult to NOT produce fine swirls. So, we let it go!
