are there any negatives to running spacers?

 

chance that they might brake lose.

 

I can't imagine how they would break loose unless one didn't tighten them properly, so about the same risk as your normal lugnuts falling off lol.

As far as realistic negative impacts:
1. Rubbing. I had to roll my fenders to make this work.
2. Cutting. Rubbing can lead to cutting the tires or fender damage.
3. Wear issues. I doubt this changes camber, but many people run more camber to avoid rubbing, which will result in more inside wear.
4. Dirt! Since my tires stick out more, I notice a little mud on the side of my car.

This setup isn't for everyone, but it works for me. As far as questions related to cost and handling, they have been answered in my previous posts.

 

+1. I haven't been on gravel but I know after it's been raining I have rooster tails down my front doors from all the mud flying up and sticking.

 

im on stock gsr x wheels but dont knw how big to go in spacers???

its probably about the same as an 8 or a 9. the way i decided was to just look at ur inward fender gap and esimate how many mm or cm it is...or u can take a little ruler and measure. I ended up going 20mm front 15mm rear...lowered ~1.5" front, ~1" rear, alignment done and zero rubbing w/ zero fender modification. hit up touge factory for great deals on spacers

 

Just a quick question...would i need to run extended wheel studs if i wanted to run 20mm with oem Evo 8 wheels?

looks good, but they are spaced out TOO much, and you could use some negative camber up front

 

That's the thing my suspension is still setup for my old wheels 18x9.5+15 so I'm runing -2.0 camber up front and -2.5 in the rear and the X wheels r on 235-40 and I want to buy some 255/40 in a couple months but then the gap would be diff so idk

 

no problems with rubbing?
