So I've had my 06 white Evo 9 MR for a while now and have been wanting tints on them for a long time now but I seem to have bad luck with police pulling me over for bs reasons like "we thought you had a modified exhaust", etc.. So i came to the conclusion that my car is to flashy for illegal tints so i was thinking of doing the legal limit here in VA which is 50% front 35% back but ive heard that 50% is pretty much nothing... what do you guys think, you guys think a white evo can pull off maybe 20% front / 35% back? maybe 40%/35%? Anyone with pics and what % they have would be great. Thanks!

I have 35 all around. A cop pulled me over once for my stock exhaust, and then checked my windows(which technically the fronts are illegal) and didnt give me a ticket. Im sure it helped that I wasnt speeding and didnt act like a donkey.

It basically depends on the cop pulling you over. I think some form of tint on the front windows is basically illegal in every state. Here in Ma the law I believe is 100% no tint on the fronts, but you can have 35% on the rears. I have 15% on all 5 windows and have got pulled over for everything else but window tint. Just do it once and do it dark

my god why do you kids call it "tints" It's TINT that's like calling your paint "paints" b/c it's on more than one piece

With white I'd go with something dark 15-20%.

 

jst do a straight 35 or 40 % , yea its not much , but it would be better than 50 and you probably wont get pulled over because its not that dark.

i dislike cars that have 2 shades of tint (front/back), imo it just doest look right

however, if you get a 35+ tint you will wish you had gotten it darker, so you might as well get a 20% true grey NR and if you do get pulled over for tint - then you can switch it for a lighter version

 

35% on every window including the windshield is a very nice setup.

 

In MA its legal to have 35% all around. My cars have never seen 35 though


OP, theres a tint out there between 20 and 35...about 26. Go for that and just be careful and roll your windows down when you see a cop.

i just saw a car in some parking lot recently with the windshield tinted... it was the weirdest thing i had ever seen lol. i seriously was like wtf and had to just stair at it for a while

 

Good to see I'm not the only one out there w/ a tinted windshield. I've got 35% on the windshield and 15% on all other windows. Indiana allows 35% all around, but cops here generally don't care about tint. I've been running the same setup on my Accord for about 7 years w/o issue. I've been pulled over once in the Evo for tint, but no ticket.
