Just felt like saying hi, and I live in New Oxford haha.

Your Mom paid for your car plain and simple..
I gave you props for de ricing the car...just criticized the decal...
For the rest of the haters bolting on an exhaust and intake is not building anything.....make it have double the factory WHP and then talk about how you built your car.
The EvO comes out of the box with great parts and Power..where as VW makes nothing with good power...
The top of the line R32 is a joke 250 crank hp in a tank of a car at 3500 lb
and a front bias fake AWD 3.2L engine this car sucks..my wifes 2000 2.8 VR6 GTI kicks sand in the face of them all day every day its sad
The 1.8t engine is OK but need rods to be safe over 300whp...and still its front wheel drive......the ring gear is held on by rivits..that break then there goes the trans case....the rear Haldex unit is brittle in the R32.....
the engine in my GTI is rated at 113 crank hp and dynos at 95-98 WHP
with a scuffed#3 piston and a badly scuffed#4 piston and badly worn bearings in the t3/t04b "S" trim with .63 stage 2 hot side turbo and stand alone engine management self tuned it dynod at 320whp and 329wtq at 24psi....the car weighs 2560# with me in it and working AC.....so if you think you will walk me with bolt ons ..you wont....

I'm buying an evo to have a better base to build on and enjoy....
Better brakes better seats better gear box..AWD more rear seat leg room..
able to go over 400whp without cracking the engine..better head flow better ECU support....The VW ECU sucks for aftermarket support..
Now back on topic Good work folks..amd nothing can save the white EVO from dirty jersey

now pics of my junk........with JDM wheels

Soon to be EVO owner

And Hi from Dave Cheers Folks
Can I ask why you have a "JDM" steering wheel in a German car?

i kinda actually think its fun, it can be a REAL pain in the *** at times, especially when the person messed with wiring.. but its fun watching a car turn around, although now i just wish i had spent more in the beginning and saved in the long run, by the time i get done this car i could have bought a clean very low mileage evo

Love the re-build and the car is 100x better...however one suggestion I'd like to make are about the cams. I see you've chosen BC 272's. If i may be so bold and suggest ANYTHING but the BC's . I had them on my car and after a simple switching of the cams and a re-tune on the EXACT same setup i gained in the ballpark of 25whp and 15ft lbs torque peak and more than 30whp/20torque in certain areas. See an old post of mine to compare dyno plots. The entire powerbrand was increased as well by going with different cams. Again you can choose which cams you'd like but my experience says these cams stink. Good luck with the build..the car is looking good.

I am kinda in same boat as you with the previous owner slicing up all the wires. Mitsubishi dealer told me I bring it in again they are gonna put a new wiring harness, about $3,000. How difficult was it for your mechanic to find the shorts, or did you just buy a new or used one?

he spent about 3 days finding the short, it ended up being a short in the head light, then water ran down the wires into the fuse box and rusted some of wire where it connected to the fuses and then there was a short in the windshield wiper and turn signal switch.. it ended up costing me 1700 bucks but he got it all fixed, i didnt have to get a new harness but he went through it all and reconnected everything, he found like 10 wires that were just sitting there touching the other wire that wasnt even connected to anything
