I tried peeling the chipping part off and respraying the whole thing. You can clearly see where the old clear was. I'd recommend wet sanding the whole thing..

Looks good I have the same problem. I need to take care of that once it gets nicer outside. Did you put new brambo decals, if so where did you get it?

i actually was just going to peel the clear coat off and just spray clear on them. But i totally sanded them down(alot of work) painted 3 layers of red then laid down the sticker then sprayed 3 coats of clear. Im thinking if it last a year it will be worth it. If it does start to peel again i will have them powdercoated.

It is actually pretty easy....Takes a while though.

I took a pick and peeled as much as I could. then I took a red scrub pad and scuffed the entire surface. I cleaned them with brake cleaner. Let it dry for about an hour. Then hit them with several coats of VHT Clear. Waited about 10 mins between coats.

If you are careful you can keep the stock Brembo sticker. Just don't go too crazy with the peeling and scuffing.

Oh after it is all dry and ready for paint make sure you mask off your entire wheel well and fender/quarter panel with tape and newspaper out to about 3 feet from the caliper.

Mine have been done for almost a year now and I have not had any problems what so ever.

either

either they chip or turn dark red where it doesn't even shine anymore. think powdercoating them is the way to go

Sand the decal off, paint dry, paint dry, paint dry, place new decal, clear dry, clear dry, clear dry. Done.

Looks nice. I need to do the same soon.

I wonder what would hold up better, VHT or Dupli-color. Anyone have any experience in both?

Even if you powder coat they will eventually do the same thing again, especially if you track the car.
