the taillights aren't rice. they are led style circular pattern lights that first appeared on cement and dump trucks with leds. therefore they should be referred to as "dump truck style" from now on.

Eh, who cars if our cars aren't spec'ed the same as the JDM Evo 8 GSR? Can you afford the GSR if it were actually sold here? I bet you'd rather get a US-spec STi if it had to come down to price. As for the taillights (called 'rear lamps' if you order them from a Mitsubishi parts dealer in Japan) I love the look. I think it would look better on a black car, but I love my red car. You can get the rear lamps for $380 shipped from japanparts.com. Just ask for Graham. He helped me a lot and shipping was fast!

The lancer evolution is NOT a Evo VIII, it is a combination of the Evo VIII and the EVO VII, if this was an EVO VIII we would be enjoying a 6 speed tranny and possibly some other goodies... If you look at your owners manual it also says that the rear wing is adjustable.. again reminance of the Evo VII stuff... look at the "Lancer Evolutions" tranny again this item is from an Evo VII GSR.... anyone care to disagree with that?

PS the car has also been labled as an Evo 7.5 due to the mixing of parts on the car.

We have the 5 speed just like the evo 7. The jdm and uk version have acd/ayc like the 7. see what i'm saying. You can't just say its an evo 7.5 because it shares a tranny.

I can get the lights by ordering them directly through mitsubishi. I just need the part number. I really doubt japanparts.com will just give me the number. They'll probably just try to sell me the lights themselves. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

I am not 100% clear on my Japanese...but from looking at my Evo 7 tail light box I feel pretty confident that the part number is MR954214

I checked out the number and it is the correct one. MR954214 is one side, left or right don't remember which, and the other side is MR954213.

Thanks helli0n,
Julian Jr.
