If I buy the EVO I will have stock lancer tail lights waiting to be swapped out as soon as I get home. then i'll sell the lights on e-bay. I know someone will buy it and pay a high price for them!

I will also be debadging all the evolution stuff.

The wing is pretty gay. Oh yeah "you're a race car driver" ok, sure. I'd get the small spoiler and am thinking of removing that as well. Unless you're doing 140 mph, this thing isn't necessary and I don't want to drive around in something that looks as silly as "High Rev Tuners". What a joke!

 

trust me taht piec of wing is not just 4 look it's got allthe areodynmic you'll need for 140 mph a wing or without a wing wont hlpe you much if you start loosing it

Are the taillights the same on the Lancer and the Evo??? Will they be interchangeable???

 

Really, how fast are you going to be driving this thing? You realize that it doesn't really have any "functionality" at low speeds. Unless you are driving pretty damn fast, the wing is pretty useless.

Once again, the Evo WILL be available with the low OZ wing. Just get it. The tail lights won't look as bad in person. There are actually people in Japan that are swapping the clear rear lights from the GTA onto their Evo VII GSR/RSII's

And after posting this question on the SCCAforums board this is the response I got:

"In the second paragraph introducting Section 13: 'Except for modifications authorized below, Stock Category cars must be run as specified by the factory with only standard equipment as defined by these Rules.' There's no provision to remove anything the factory attached to the body as standard equipment, so you can't."

The only way you could remove the Evo's wing is if it was an option from the factory. It is the same with the ITR--they cannot remove the wing and stay in D Stock, because there was never an ITR sold without a wing.

Broeli--time to buy a rulebook. At regional (local) autocrosses nobody will say anything (because they probably don't know any better), but at a divisional or nationals you would be protested immediately.

Umm...think about it. The OZ wing is STOCK therefore the smaller spoiler would be allowed. It is not a modification... I will agree that NO wing would not be allowed, but who would want an Evo without any wing at all? It would look pretty strange. I didn't realize you were talking about no wing at all...I just thought you didn't like the big wing and I was pointing out the fact that you could get the small OZ wing and still remain "stock" for autox.
