Lets see those 255's on a 17"

thinking of going with the 255's on my stock MR wheels, but before I go that route I'd like to know the communities opinion and any criticism and maybe any unforseen issues I might run into!

The stock wheels are 17x8" so 255s on my wheels(17x9") are going to look different than on yours. Honestly Id post a pic but I fear this thread might be closed anyway. If its still here by midnight Ill throw a photo up. My spider senses tell me someone named chaotichoax is going to quickly shut this down and tell you to search. On a side note you will feel much grippy-ness while turning. When I went from 245's to 255's the best way I could describe the feel difference was that when turning I felt like the steering wheel got pulled in by itself once I initiated the turn.

I have 255's on MR BBS wheels as well but don't have any pictures. I don't see why you would have any issues. I think they look great

When you say "handles a lot better" do you mean the car handles a lot better than when you had the OEM Advans?

yeah the car handles a lot better, i mean its not that BIG of a difference but you can tell, more grip thats for sure because the tire is wider abviously, as they say wider is always better

^^^Please dont get me wrong....Looks good, but from what my suspension tuner has taught me, (Mueller) those wheels really don't fit correctly & the ride height is way too high in the rear. (Rake looks off)
What is the offset?.....I love 17's, but only ones that look right are the 17x9 RPF1's w/ the ET35 (Front spacers needed).

BTW, I'm currently on the sleeper X wheels & the 255/35/18's float very nicely up into the well=)

Edit....If that wheel can float into the well like this, then Ive learned something & will be installing them ASAP

Peace

offset is a +28...I have work ride springs...it's just a street car but the wheel/tire can float with rolled rear fenders and maybe some slight pulling

but it's not a race car so I am not really concerned

Hey fellas thanks for all the inputs, very informative! Any choice in the actual Brand Name? which fit better (if that makes sense) and ride. is there much of a difference between the 40 and 45 as far as fitment goes (I hear different opinions on this)?

again thx for all the info... and to the Super Mod, thx for not shutting this down!
