Gets real "floaty" at speed and downright scary in transtition, I have tried it.

I would think you would need a tire with a pretty stiff sidewall to make it worth your while on a stock sized rim. i.e. Star Spec, NT05, etc

I have been thinking about a 255 on my 17x8 RPF1's lately, and if I do, I'll eityher go with a 255 and a stiff sidewall tire, or settle for a 245 with a cheaper tire, like a Sumitomo HTZR III, or Hankook V12
