Exactly. My gf called my car a hyundai with a big wing on it. but I don't give a crap because I love tinkering with this POS and the feeling it gives me when I'm driving it is hard to explain to a non- enthusiast. The evo is the perfect 2nd toy car but not something you want to be karting clients around in. I'm currently in the market for a 06-07 m5.

If your starting a family, and business, you need something roomy and reliable. Get a toyota avalon or a nice lexus GS or somethin instead of a M3. Basically, an even more un-reliable raw car that will guzzle gas like its nothing.

The family excuses for people who go over to the euro side annoy me. Be a man and admit, you got tired of the boy racer look and decided to dump more money to be grown up :P
xD

My dad had a 08 Coupe for a few weeks before he got rid of it. Meh, I prefer my evo though.
Just means The "FAMILY BUSINESS" is doing good dats all....Give the man props and move on.

Im sorry, but having had a E46 M3, and being in a family with a E92 M3, E60 M5, and now a 07 M6 Convirtible, the reliability for a long-use car is not there as it is with the evo. We had many problems with ours over the last few years.

Plus, we just had 30K mile service done on the M6, of which, A/C belts, engine Belts, Oil Change, Alignment, Tire rotation, New Fluids, Yadda yadda were done.

Car is without warranty.. so this cost nearly $3K to get done. Thats a bit :/

I see the need for the cruise control and all for long distance trips. You never mentioned about having customers or what not being in the car, that I understand.

For the money you put out on that though, Id have gone with the M5. Much better.

Not downgrading on it nor you though, just throwing out some thoughts. Nonetheless, its a nice car, and goodluck with it and such.

Need for 2 cars?
Oh comeon, its fun to have a lot of cars hhahah.

Right now there is 6 in our household, lol. And only 4 members.
(Gl450, Maser. GranSport, M6 Conv., Range Rover, GS450H, and a 350z which will soon be sold as im nearing the completion of my Widebody and now need the money for the motor build on my IX MR)

Sorry but I disagree with you. I've had many BMWs and the thing you really have to do is take good care of the car. It's definitely more maintenance than an evo but if you consider the e46 m3 for example, the cost of maintenance is pretty damn close. Congrats OP on the purchase be weary of what parts you purchase for that car. There's a lot of junk out there that other vendors are advertising.

now both new and CPOd bmws come with free maintenance during the warranty period which is why im selling my evo to buy a very low mileage 335i

For a limited time, choose from two exceptional offers. You can enjoy our BMW no-cost maintenance plan, which means you'll pay nothing for up to 6 years or 100,000 miles
so thats free maintenance for almost everything and a warranty that lasts as long too. my friend works for bmw and the dealership he works at even replaces brake pads, rotors and tires as part of the maintenance.

TCO is much lower in this case!

Nice car choice. That is the only car that I'd consider owning besides my EVO.

CPO is a great plan that most car companies do not offer. My only gripe with the CPO program is that when there is an issue with the car, they will charge you a diagnostic fee to find the damage. If no damage is found, they will keep that fee while if a damage is found and COVERED under warranty, your money is refunded. Either way though, free maintenance covers pretty much everything but tires and is definitely a great incentive!

Not the car Id have crossed over to but if it works for your needs congrats. The color is really what makes it not so appealing to me. I saw a black M3 the other day and it does the m3 better justice. I guess I just cant lose the idea of a luxurious sedan/an evo/and a vette all being mine one day. One down 2 to go. LOL but I am only 25. The cruising sedan is next then on with the vette by 30ish.

It's hard to compare both since it's like comparing apples to oranges. However, we can both agree that without the 335, 535, new z4 and 135 wouldn't have the power that they have! (They use turbos!)

Well I had a E92 335i right before I got the evo. Sold it after a month, had basic boltons, it was horrible.

The turbo's went, seals around the motor were leaking, and the well re-known HPFP problem was getting unbearable. 3 pumps, everyone going bad and causing major issues.

The new 35's and overall all the 3 series from 07 on really are the most un-reliable BMW's ever. Go to your SERVICE department at your local dealership oneday and look at the chart with the cars in line for work done. 90% of them is the new 3 series and the turbo 35's.

Now, BMW'S N/A motors have been proven over and over when well maintained, but good maintenance on them is a lot more pricey in my opinion. However, the fact of the matter, you can beat the evo's ***** of, and it wont have issues. It was made for that. The BMW on the other hand, beat it hard, and it'll break.

We've had atleast 150+ Bmws in our shop this past year alone. Facts are facts
Sure, the luxury of those cars, the engineering and time put into them, and their performance is insane. And, if properly taken care of, they are reliable. But that comes with a price.

if it was me, id have gone with a used e60 m5, s55 amg, s8, or e55 amg. if youre talking about style and performance then a newly-used range rover hse should have sufficed considering you want to show your clients a good time and drive in comfort.

But overall very nice upgrade.

For me my evos bought and paid for by myself it took 2 years to save up cash, its going to stay with me for the rest of my life, ill just buy another car to add on, luxury one for dd the evo for weekends. my whole thing is to have a little car collection of my own to look at and drive around in.
