Everybody in an Combat Aviation Brigade who is not a pilot, I know lots of CPT who walk around down range with M16... It sucks but rather be a mechanic in Aviation than any other corp in the army.... Leaves so much professional growth...

Hell, try being a dual carrier...twice the crap to haul around M4 and M9 with full gammut of ammo. The IOTV does not make it any eaiser either. Thank goodness for single point slings and hide holsters for the M9. No wonder I am the incredible shrinking Warrant Officer. UGH!

Thats to easy. I carried my M4 and M9 last tour when I was a PSG. What sucked, was when I was a brand new PVT on my first deployment, I was stuck with a M249 and M16. Made no sense at all to have me carry both weapons lol. How my leadership told me to strap my M16 to my back lol.

Never the less...it still sucks. The IOTV alone (with plates) is a hair over 40lbs. Add to that 7 to 9 30rd 5.56 and 6 15 rd m9 mags plus seat belt cutter, gerber, IFAC, flashlight, radio, and grenade pouches....I am loaded the hell down. I am a small dude too. 5'8" at 170lbs. Big guys carry this crap with ease. It wears me he hell out. I am too old for this crap. 18 years in...you can imagine how I feel these days.

Pretty sure i know how you feel, if not more so.... i was carrying both my M4 and M9 around WITH my medbag.... anybody who's lugged one of those around know that it's no fun.
