Are there two pieces to the bumper?

Looks as if there is a lip on the bottom portion of the bumper. Can this part be taken off? The reason why i ask is because i would like to repaint it due to a little curb incident.

Hm...you sure there isn't a lip? It looks as if the evo has a lip thats contoured to blend into the bumper.

Here's the proof:

I had my front bumper replaced, and was pissed, originally the body shop thought it was all one piece and that it was just a charcter line. When I went to pick up my car, I noticed a gap and complained, then I noticed that they didn't even repaint it. It's held on by six plastic push screws.

Yeah, I know, and I've also had the EVO long enough that Mitsu's painting leaves a lot to be desired, seeing that my car didn't come with many body pieces that match, I've had several parts on the car repainted including the new bumper, because of that, insurance wouldn't pay to repaint the lip. Besides, it's only scratched underneath, you have to be under the car to notice. My plans include getting the whole car repainted once it's gone through it's first New England winter and the funds become available.

That's total genius though, it's like ablative armor, replaceable high-wear pieces so you don't have to replace major components! I love this car.. in my wrx the little scrapes that everyone gets from pulling into driveways or accidentally hopping curbs would result in damage that would cost $500 for a repaint... with my Evo I can just replace the part every couple of years..
