TSX Projector Retrofit help
TSX Projector Retrofit help
I bought a set of TSX Projectors for a retrofit into my USDM GSR E8 headlights. Do any of you guys have any experience with this retro? I have searched all over and can't find a detailed write up on this subject. Just pics of them already done by vendors...etc. It looks fairly simple, though. Just a few drilled holes, and 4 mounting bolts/nuts to the existing leveler bracket.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tools required:
* Dremel with cutting tool to remove area of TSX projector to allow free movement of nuts http://static.electro-tech-online.co...emel-wheel.JPG
* drill bit to make 4 new holes on the TSX projector http://www.homedepot.ca/wcsstore/Hom...2b084406_4.jpg
* 4 bolts (cant remember length. Gauge from this pic http://www.lightwerkz.net/gallery/ma...serialNumber=1)
* 12 nuts (3 per bolt)
.............................................
1. Remove the CT projector from the mounts. Itll be held in by 4 bolts (you can ditch these bolts)
2. grab a pair of vernier calipers and measure the:
* Width between the bolt hole centerlines that span from either side of the projector (Measure from top 2 or bottom 2 holes)
* measure Height between the bolt hole centerlines that span on one side of the projector (either left or right side)

3. Now measure the same Width and Height dimensions for the bolt holes on your TSX projector. From memory I think the Width dimension for both projectors were very similar. As for the Height, TSX was the larger dimension..

4. Dissasemble the TSX projector and grab the front half only.

Now that you know the dimensions of both projectors, you will need to transpose the dimensions of the CT projector onto the TSX front. Before marking the new 4 hole locations make sure everything is centrally measured and that the left markings are a mirror image of the right. Start drilling the new holes
5. Grab the rear half of the projector (Reflector bowl) and start trimming the areas that will interfere with the nuts that you will fix to the projector.
6. Assemble projector to make sure it fits together.
7. You will also need to trim the area of the projector that will make contact with the turn signal housing
8. Trial fit the projector to the headlight and make adjustments either:
* forward to the lense or
* back to the black housing
for the desired position.
