i picked up the wheels from mega-z (another evom member)
and the turbo kit from a very good friend of mine that wrecked his car a few months ago.
after i was finished with the sti project i decided to hunt down an affordable evo 8. for those wondering what the sti looked like:

so i had found an 03 as evo 8 with high mileage at a very low price so i jumped on it, i didnt mind the motor cuss i was gonna send it in for a full built

so after i bought the car and took the motor out for a built procedure i decided to take the car to a body shop to paint the engine bay
Where did you bring you STI for tunes and such (akuma?) and where you bringing your new EVO? just curious

i was going with the black but i really wanted to put the blue decals and when i tried it, i was barely able to tell about the decals since they r dark also. in the last pics they actually look bright cuss the flash of the camera but if u look in the 1st page the wheels r actually pretty dark.

I'm subscribed and wish u the best bro! My car has been in the shop for 4 months now and I'm not even doing half the stuff u r. Just curious how much a whole paint job cost u? Stupid question but were they able to lightly sand and just spay over your silver cuz the colors are pretty close

U r very smart in buying a cheaper car then pick out all the parts u really wanted in the first place

to answer your paint question. most likely, the car was sanded down to just the topcoat (clearcoat) and just based over the original color. unless he didn't want so many layers of paint on the whole car, thick paint (just tons layers) usually makes a car more vulnerable to paint chips.

i wanted 3 layers of the color i picked, but didnt whant to add it to like 4 that already comes from the dealer so i had them sand out about 3 layers(almost to the end), then had them prime the whole car, then we did 3 layers + the clear including the engine bay area to make it resistible.
btw in the pics, the car still needs to get buffed out for max shinning, i decided to do that when the car comes out of the mechanic shop
