How did you mount it? What brackets did you use? Pic?

You can use your factory brackets. Mount them to the radio on the lower mounting holes, then get some "speed nuts" and place them on the squared hole left by the hvac controls factory position. Installing the factory brackets like this should center your avic with the factory 2 din trim.

Is this what you're asking?

I have the smart and once you root it you can install apps from the app store. I'm running Google Navigations and it is by far the BEST navigation unit

Yea that's what I was askin. The only problem was when I tried that the back of my navi would hit the metal bracket in the back and I couldn't push it any further back

Ok. Probably the avic is a bit bigger in dimensions. This is how I had it with a Kenwood:

Most 2din hu's should have a few mounting holes to play with, and the factory mounting brackets should sit at an angle as in the first pic.

Just caught this. It wasn't hard but its difficult to find the instructions. I can PM them to you if you get one. Once you do it its a breeze. It was a lot simpler then other android devices are to root.

Still considering getting one?

Running this setup as well and loving it. Cyanide does great work and the jdm bezel really is something the US cars should have come with

Oop - yea I am, well def not considering anything else at least. Thanks for all the good info you're posting in this thread -

as far as after rooting and putting google navigation on it, how do you download data for maps? Do you somehow store the map, or do you tether from your phone etc?
