RS Sprint inspired Evo 7.5 diary
Hey Onizuka, thanks for looking bro.
Hey z32, are you serious? Man, i wish my car looked like yours!
Alchem1st, thanks for looking mate. I'll be checking out your build thread too
NJ9MR thank you for looking. Your car is one tough looking beast.
06MREvo thank you. yes, the GT-A stands for Grand Touring Automatic LOL pretty gay huh.
I was getting the infamous "clack clack clack" noise when veering to the right so it was time to replace the two front shocks.
$650 supplied and fitted at Meek.

Fitting took less than twenty minutes.

Ever since i got the car, my idle has been all over the place.
Time to replace the old Evo 7 idle speed controller (stepper motor) with a newer Evo 9 one.
This screw took me half an hour to get off. Farken piece of shiet

Here's a comparison of the Evo 7 stepper motor and the Evo 9 one.

Evo 9 stepper motor installed
$100 from Sydney Auto Dismantlers in Greenacre (thanks Aniz).

A photo taken by Miles at the V & E Rigoli Dyno Day.

Back to Meek to lift the boost cut.

Chris was reluctant to do it for me but i pestered the shiet out of him to get it done.

Time for my first official Dyno run.

140.7awkw (188.68hp) at 22PSI.

Curious five-o who liked my car.

At Tim's house downloading my ECU Rom and picking up a stock air box.
Also got to drive his 200+awkw GT-A too. Went hard.

After receiving priceless advice and direction from a friend of mine with a worked Evo 8, it was time for me to order a Walbro 255 ($135 delivered from Just JDM).
Just one out of ten performance parts due to arrive in time for my "reliable" tune to happen in the not so distant future

Preparing for the install.
Fire extinguisher on stand by with pin pulled out just in case.

Finally got it out. That black ring around the top of the pump was harder than beating M. Bison on 8 stars difficulty.
It made me evil

Blitz blow off valve $80 off Ebay. Fixed my weird idle issue from my factory "reversed" plastic blow off valve.
Sounds good. Classic "chhhh" sound with a bit of flutter.
It also has it's own mini pod filter

Stock GT-A muffler with restrictive "choke". Booo

Replacement Evo 9 MR cat back. $90.
No restrictive choke. No more weird "drone" that i used to get from the GT-A cat back and best of all, the MR cat back is less restrictive.

Old, dodgy resonator from Bankstown Mufflers on the GT-A cat back.

Factory Evo 9 MR resonator.

My old mate Brad from OZVR4.COM from when i used to own a Legnum.
My car and his rare Legnum "Super VR-4" twin turbo.

The Meek Pike's Peak winner. Left hand drive USDM Evo.

The beginning of my Evo 9 exterior conversion...
This is the car that inspired me.
Evo 7 with Evo 9 front bar.

I got in contact with the owner in Europe as i was curious about the top section being "blacked out".
He couldn't really speak English so i tried to make it as easy to understand as i could.

One Evo 9 part down, four to go.
I still need the wing, bonnet, rear bar and wheels.
Managed to take this off Jase for $800.

Complete bar with all meshes, supports, hoses for intercooler spray etc

Time to get it sprayed *air punch x 3*

Thanks guys.
Once the exterior is "updated" i'll get to work on some mild performance mods.
Perrin boost controller, dump pipe, hotside pipe, 1050cc injectors and then a duel map tune for E85 and 98RON and i'll be happy

this is an awesome thread and transformation of your car! Keep it up and dont forget to keep us updated here. You have a sweet ride that i normally dont see here in the US or at least not as common.
Nice to see another 1 so perfect
Hi dimi I liked watching your thread especially since I have exactly the same car down here in Tassie, i'll try add a picture but I just joined here so I am not sure if it will let me.
