It's wonderful to see so many people like my car and my build thread after all these years.
I miss this car so much. I'm still in contact with the new owner thought. And I may buy it back next year

Let me update the rest of my build thread.

Here we go

Time to install the cabin filter.
Glove box opened and ready to be removed.

One push on this tab and the whole glove box pops out. Sweet.

Sealed doors to the dungeon

Like a hot knife through butter. It's almost like it was meant to be "cut" away.

**** is all that in there...

Oh ****.

Crusty old sticks, Barney Rubble and a Saddam Hussein play card
This is the very reason why we need a cabin filter installed.

Time for the filter to go in.

Direct fit.

Using some spare Mitsubishi screws i pinched from a wrecked Magna's head unit some time ago.

There

Evo 9 front bar freshly painted. Still wet though.

Paint code - W13 Silky White Pearl mixed with Marshmallow

Some maintenance goods i got over the weekend.

Rislone Engine Repair. Claims to restore performance, increase compression, reduce friction and cleanse engine.
Guarantee's results can be felt within 150 kms of driving.
Full product info here.

Thirst quenching injector cleaner.

Amber parker bulbs for winter and snow driving.

Bye bye Evo 7 bar

Hello Evo 9 front

Perfect fit. The Evo 9 oil cooler duct slotted into place as well.

Now it's time to get an Evo 8 or 9 bonnet to complete the front...

So it can look like it's come straight out of Need For Speed.

Managed to find this Evo8/9 wing for $150 on the forum.

Pretty **** condition though.

The original owner put carbon stick-on wrap to hide the blemishes.
This is all going to come off and the wing to be restored to factory condition (and the sides colour-coded to match the factory pearl).

Major service. All oils changed including transmission, AYC, front and rear diff, transfer case etc.
$365.

Also upgraded my front engine roll stopper to the GSR one.
The old, hollow GT-A piece of **** one was farked. I was getting a "clunk" sound when letting my foot off the accelerator in 4th and 5th gear cruising.
Definitely a difference between the two. There's no more knocking sounds on take off either.
$25 for the GSR one.

Time to inspect my MAF sensor.

Looks like an old smoker's lung.

MAF sensor cleaner. $29 from Super Cheap Auto (Thanks Johnny aka Crooza).

Little Questacon looking sensor is now nice and clean.

Time to put it all back (yes i know my engine bay is filthy).

New HKS panel filter i scored off Aaron for $40. Thanks mate.
Happy with the results after cleaning the MAF, i'm now getting 310km per tank (45L). So an increase in 15-17km per tank.

Tristian (citris) hooked me up with an Evo 9 bonnet he saw on Ebay.
So i called up and offered the owner $650 cash and the classified was closed.

Upon closer inspection, it was actually a bonnet from an Evo 9.
Complete with fins, mesh, water jets and insulation.

Experimenting with Ralliart bonnet fin decal.

Just experimenting for now. If i'm happy with it i'll keep it. If not, i'll scrub it off.

Stuart offered to paint my lights for me this week to give it that authentic Evo 9 look.
So off to Super Cheap Auto to collect some materials.

As part of my Evo 9 headlight upgrade, Trae offered to send me his GSR orange indicator lenses. Thanks bro.

Slowly starting to look like an Evo 9 now.
The next update will hopefully see my lights finished and my wing and bonnet painted
Thanks for looking and commenting.

Kinda boring (i know) but gets the message across right?

**** happened to my vent. It looks as if someone printed a prehistoric world atlas onto it.

Time to get that **** sorted out.
High temperature BBQ paint. $19 from Bunnings.

Only one coat was required with a brush.

All done.

Holim sold me his near-new BPR9EIX Iridiums for $35.
Good for 20-28PSI.
Thanks bro.

Evo 9 wheels arrived. Got them off young Damo for $650 including courier from South Australia.

Wheels arrived. All packed nicely and they easily fitted inside the car.

Waiting to get them fitted.

Done. Now just getting them balanced and aligned.

There. Nothing exciting but they have a bit more of an updated look over the Evo 7 GSR wheels.

Right. It was time to get the headlights out to prepare them for the MR/Evo 9 upgrade.
So Stuart came to pick up the headlights on Sunday morning.

Here they are originally looking homosexual.

After the conversion (**** house photo i know).

Lights re-fitted.

The front is almost looking one hundred percent Evo 9 now.

For some reason I liked how it looked with the GT-A style crystal lights. It was a bit less "MR" wannabe don't you reckon?

DAMN this evo 7 is so raw. I would die to have a GT-A for a DD. So lucky.

Sweet thread made, tasteful upgrades.

Have to disagree with this one though. On the time that it was launch enthusiasts always compared it to the evo 6 which they say has more aggressive looks etc. etc. But after months when car designs were getting more modern, and then the 8 came out. Evo 7s are not considered bad looking anymore. In fact people are saying it looks better than the 8 coz of its sharper front (reminds me of the BNR34 actually). Whereas the 8 has the triangle grill which looks like almost all mitsu grill at that time.

For me among all evos, I like the 7, 9 then 6 (in order) aesthetically wise.

The 8 front end is the most ugly aswell in my opinion, much more plastic and that horrible triangle type frony with bubbous plastiv bit coming up the middle into the boonnet area, the 7 is the more good looking yet not so extremely agressive that u get every cop pulling u over i think it is the most attractive evo along with the evo 3. I think it is just the many here say it look so ugly compared to 8 etc because in the USA they don't have hardly any evo 7's but in fact it is much much nicer and the rest of the world all mainly agrees.

Like on this evo done up in this forum why would u change bumpers? to lose those lovely angles in the front bumper sides, it doesn't look to bad coz u don't have the terrible middle plastic part coming up but it still isn't as nice as my evo 7 gt=a looks with that bumper asmuch as mine. on my opinion
