I use Gold CLass also. the NXT generation stuff is way too expensive so far. The clay bar works great but it is a lot of work.

I'll be hand washing the car again (FINALLY) today so I'll post again later today.

One warm day in February (or was it January) I did the whole clay bar, paint cleaner, polish, carnubra wax (took about 3 precise hours), but the results were great. I've always used Meguire's products, and I was very happy with the outcome.

How often do you all do apply those 3 steps? I'm thinking about doing it every 3-4 months depending on the weather. I never used to wax any of my cars more than 2-3 times a year, or hell, even bother with any of the stepped cleaning systems, so i'm a bit **** about my car. I was thinking about doing it again in mid/late May then again in July then again in October for fall.

Personally I try to get as many coats of wax on BEFORE winter just as protection and I clay bar whenever I feel I have the time and the car feels rough after washing it. I clean the car frequently so I don't ususally need wax as much.

UPDATE DAY: 91

I hand washed the car today and after I was done sobbing over the two or three tiny paint nicks I managed to pick up over the winter, I gave the car the once over. It still looks and feels great although the doors and sides now feel very rough and very much in need of some clay bar. Neither side seems worse or better and I can say that both sides are starting to look like they are in need or some clay and fresh wax.

I'll keep the test going and probably redo the car again soon the same way (half Zaino hald MeGuiars)

cool i think im gonna go buy some today any suggestions anyone for a 'cleaner' ?? im assuming the cleaner is different than just soap???? will it just say something like 'paint cleaner' ?

It's Pre-wax Cleaner.
Step One in any 3 step system.

Actually, Timz reminded me of a question I always forget to ask about the Meguiar’s deep crystal polish. I’ve always used that instead of a clay bar. Can anyone say that a clay bar is better for any reason? Is their polish not meant to replace the clay bar?

Clay bar is way better for me. It removes so much more than polish does, in fact I had some spray paint overspray on my car and the clay bar even removed that.

Hm, any local places to get NXT stuff? Is there a multi-step NXT like the current multi-step Meguiar's? That's what I use now...

Guys, I hate to sound like a dick, as I do typically very much try to avoid being one of "those" guys on the forums. But a lot of the statements in this thread are just foolish. How is this NXT wax so much better? By what proof or by what standard? By what experiment? How is one thing better than zaino or mother's or anything else? Honestly, it's cool if you like meguiars and state that. But when you say it is better than something else please provide a genuine reason, otherwise your statement is completely pointless.

I also say this because I'm always interested in finding a better wax, or the best wax or whatever. I'm very happy with the stuff I use now, but I don't know it to be the best, so I want genuine info. Not "this is the best type R carbon fiber sticker you can use" kind of statements. But right now a lot of the statements in this thread don't help anybody.
