What exzactly does the bumper support bar do?

This maybe a stupid question, though im wondering what's the big importance of this new bumber support bar on the front, Many ppl don't want to get certian kits/evo vii OEM Front replacements becuase you need to take this bar out.

Thanks in advance

Well lets just say if you were smart you wouldn't remove the bumper support. Its there in case you get in a wreck. Without the support if you get in a wreck your seriously screwed.

Hmm.. I think it supports the bumper??

Its what gives the car its "Crashworthiness" if you hit anything without it, you've pretty much multiplied the possible damage will do in a collision, in otherwords, something that may not have thrashed the car at a particular speed, would have obliterated the front-end..

BAD IDEA to remove it.. It could also affect the deployment of your airbags if you removed it.

Wouldn't that be, the last thing to go through his mind... His ***..

Getting into an accident without the front bar is like tossing yourself into a wood chipper.. LOL

The stock front bumper is about as stong as a pice of aluminum foil! Now, if someone wanted to make a real useful Carbon Fiber part, I would consider buying a CF bumper (not bumper cover, the bumper itself) that allowed good airflow, was lighter than stock steel, and just as strong or stronger.

First....it's bumPer, not bumber.

If you remove the support and you get into an accident, the insurance company will notice that that integral safety item is missing! At that point you can rest assured that the insurance company will not cover the costs of your repair.

I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to remove that support....unless they are building a show car.

All of the JDM kits do. That support doesn't exist on the Japanese Evo VIII. I think the Accolade front piece allows you to keep the front bumper support.
