Hahahahaha. I wish Mitsu would've just used the same floor pan and gas tanks for the mirage and evos. But you're right, it should be smooth sailing once the pan is swapped.

Hey Brent!

Hopefully we'll both be wrapping our pan swaps up at the same time. In my sixth picture, I still need to get in there and grind those spot welds in order to remove the pan, as per Manny. I also noticed that your's still has the original in the picture you posted. Are you going to be removing your's as well in place for the Evo mounts? I don't see how the trunk pan can be removed without grinding those spot welds and drilling the spotwelds out underneath.

Thanks,
Sean

Oh yeah, I did end up getting those out. I didn't have a grinder handy so I just chopped off a section of the old floor to gain access to those hidden spot welds. Those are the worst ones by far.

Haha I'm working on it. If I weren't going on vacation this weekend I'd probably have it done. Hopefully by the 19th I can have the floor pan mocked up or welded in.

I got back into town from Phoenix last night and had the day off from work today so I decided to get some work done on the car.

Dropped the trunk pan and mounted the ets fmic. Also mocked up the bumper to check fitment with the fmic and I think it fills the grill nicely!

Hoping to get the Evo 5 trunk pan mocked up this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Thanks! I actually want the Evo 5 RS foglight blanks/brackets but those are pretty hard to find. I hope to find a set so I can sell these fogs. I just picked them up in the meantime so I wouldn't have huge holes in my bumper.

Thanks! It's an ETS 3" fmic for an Evo8. I had to drill 2 new holes on my front support and use riv-nuts to create threads. I also had to make a custom bracket for the top IC bracket. I haven't installed this bracket yet since I'm in the process of painting it.

I got the fuel tank and rear subframe installed. I need to go to the Mitsu dealer tomorrow and pick up 2 more bolts for the subframe and a few other parts. Decided to order some Evo5 rear strut towers instead of doing fully adjustable coilovers. It's cheaper this way, plus I think it's the correct way to do it.

Once my Evo 5 rear strut towers show up from the U.K. I'll get those welded in, seam seal all the panels, undercoat, and install the rest of the rear drivetrain. Hopefully this can happen next weekend.

I also picked up a Precision sc6152sp from my buddy Eric and will be running that temporarily until I can get a 6262bb.
