tacky or not?

hey everyone last week i was at my local performance shop and i saw a pretty sexy m3 with a dust carbon fiber roof and i was thinking about getting a sheet to put on my roof (i have a white 05 mr). some of the sample pics online make the cars look pretty sick, i was just curious what other people think, if you saw it on the street would you say "thats pretty hot" or would you say "wow that looks tacky"?

i think it would probably look pretty cool if done correctly but i would never do it myself because it would bother me that it wasnt really a carbon roof

^^ tonnes of guys in my area are doing it (all different cars) and its not a bad looking touch (rather see just black vynal) but its something that car guys will flame you for and people who have no clue about cars will think its pretty sweet. Thats the reactions at the car shows i've had my car in.. your car and you do what you want but if this is your first mod... buy a flame suit first.

pretty sure this doesn't help you... lol sorry man!

I would just do a regular matte roof vinyl. That will be better than the f-arbon vinyl. You get the look without being fake.

Rather than CF vinyl, I would do an Oracal 970Ra matte black vinyl.

Me too. But you gotta ask yourself which matters most to you:

Function over Form or Form over Function?

the matte roof vinyl does look pretty sick. does anyone know if its hard to keep clean/ is it hard to wash without destroying it?
