Alternative to Front Plate?

Hi guys, i'm looking for some advice on a front License plate issue. When I bought my IX, there were no holes drilled in the front bumper. Here in california it's required to have a front plate. I don't want to drill into tho bumper to ruin the clean look, has anyone faced this issue and what would you recommend that I do? Thanks in advance fellas

Look for the stock front plate holder. It mounts with most of the holes out of sight in the "scoop".

My advice is to just drill the bumper cover & keep the OEM look that Mistsu designed

Ive seen guys tape their plates to the cover, use strange looking brackets w/ the plate hanging too low. Cant beat OEM IMO

Took me a while to figure this out, as I was in the same situation. I bought this bracket from Autozone
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...questid=153880 ,
a bag of zip ties, and some weatherstripping:

Then I set the bracket how I wanted it while holding the license plate to it and screwed the screws tight. Then, all you have to do is hold it in place on the mesh on the driver side of the car and zip tie it to the mesh. I recommend zip tying the ends first to hold it in place, and then adding a bunch of zip ties in the middle, I used like 10 just to be safe. Then, I taped the weatherstripping to the back of the plate so it wouldn't scratch the paint if it contacted, and to give it something additional to rest on when pushed back by wind at highway speeds. If you do it carefully, it fits in that spot perfectly and looks really clean. And no holes! Let me know if you need some pics, but its pretty self explanatory once you have the bracket. I should probably do a writeup on this with pics sometime. I've had this setup for a couple months, it's super secure and won't budge an inch.

Which requires drilling. Might as well go OEM if you're doing that, unless you prefer that look.

Get an OEM plate holder and drill. Looks way cleaner than half the hack jobs out there. Its in a decent location too since its off to the side. Less attention from the police is always a good thing too.

If you are mot worried about blocking the intercooler on normal driving days, I use a GoPro mount and mount/remove the plate in seconds. And no visible bracketry of screws. I've been running like this for awhile, no problems.

Here are the pics for those interested.

Didn't have time to remove the plate to show the bracket, but I can do that tomorrow if anyone wants to see that.

I mounted similar to Kapex.

There wasn't a bracket on mine I bought the car and I didn't want to drill either. So I took a stock bracket trimmed off the back a little bit and zip tied it to the grill in the same area as Kapex used.

You can't see the ziptie either, so it looks good enough for me. And avoid getting pulled over.

Car is apart. So best pic I have right now.
