My $6 "JDM" tailights

I did this today to my tailights, and thought i'd share it with the community. The cool part is, it only cost me $6 and about 1 and a half hours. Certainly beats the hefty price for the real one and imo it looks just as good. Now onto the pics ...

this is what i started with (don't mind the drill, i was trying to buff the little scratches out)

You should try cutting it at that black "seal" line, just below the turn signal. It'll look more OEM.
Good job, though!

I never knew people wanted/preferred to make the clear lens orange. I would think itd be the other way around ha. I think clear lens vs orange makes a car look more modern (although I do HATE the evo 8 MR tails cause the combination of chrome housing and clear lens is so ricey).

But anyway I think it looks good considering it cost you 6 bucks! Do agree though that it would look better if you cut the vinyl at the seal line of the tail light.

you know I initially thought of cutting it off, but then i thought that it would affect the longevity of vinyl and maybe constantly washing the car would cause that end to lift up. For that reason i opted to tuck the overhang. When i installed it on the car, it hides nicely with the rear bumper there and all. Good observation though.
