Very nice looking! I am honestly now going to consider doing this for my track Evo as there is no A/C or Heater anymore in it I like the position of the gauges there and would like to keep my steering column clean and clear of gauges. Thank you for the write up and I will probably do something very similar

Thanks,
Dallin

He has made suggestions about producing them. Problem is they would cost to much for most people. It takes him quite a few hours to make these. I would guess they would have to be atleast $400 for him to think about it.
In his original thread he was looking to see what people would pay. Most said something like $150 or less.....LOL

Thanks guys, i'm really happy with it. The angle is to my liking and every gauge can be seen perfectly in my peripheral vision. I wanted to keep my double din set up and also didn't want gauges up the a-pillar.. not my style.
I encourage anyone to give this a go. Its not hard at all, just VERY time consuming. I tend to be a perfectionist and that doesn't help lol
I will be making another one but for myself. (Fix some of my imperfections)
It simply takes too much time to justify selling these.

Also to be clear michaelrc51... i'm not sure what thread you read but I can guarantee it was not mine. I have never created a thread to see if there would be interest in making these....
Also as a side note this did not take me hours to make.... it took me days over about a 2 month period. I took my time with it. It made for a great winter project

Would you ever make them? Could you make one similar to the gruppe-s ones? They don't sell them anymore and that is what I really want.

It was your original thread, you suggested that possibly you might make some for sale. It was just showing your piece, not a for sale thread. I think you even asked what would people be willing to pay for them. I suggested about $500 and most people thought I was nuts for it.....LOL

By hours, I meant lots of hours......

Great piece, I would love to have one like it. I know they take a lot of time.

Don't know if I'll attempt this. I wish they still made the Gruppe-S. I picked one up about 18 months ago and paid $200 for it.
I gotta say, I think it was worth it......it is like an OEM piece. Now, if I could just get one of these.....

Im not sure if you are talking about this post??

Too much work to sell lol SOOO much time and effort involved that it would never be worth it... I asked an interior shop how much they would charge me and I was quoted 500$... I said screw that, and here we go with my attempt

It would be alot easier to do another one now, which is why I will make one more that has slightly better angle of gauges (leaned forward a bit more) and with a sun defector for the clock (better clock visibility during the day)

I never asked about interest lol
I was talking about when I asked a local shop how much it would cost to make me one and they said around 500$... I said screw that and attempted it myself lol.

I could be wrong but I cant remember that post at all

I'm sure eventually some shop or person will capitalize on this. I didn't make a mold and it is a one off. If a shop or person was to make a mold.... it would be retarded how east it would be to produce these. Just the first one would be time consuming

I searched your threads and didn't see it but I knew I posted in it and I knew the guy asked for opinions and then talked about a price if he was to sell it.....

Go to a shop and let them use your's to make a mold!
I would be in for 1!
