My Evo VIII - 5 months in the making

In November I purchased this evo 8. I have been to hell and back with this car, but I Love this thing.

One month after purchase I busted a piston 2 days after a safe dyno tune. Then I visited harbor freight and picked up a hoist and the build started. Currently it is still being broke in at this time.

So today I was out and decided to snap some pictures with my point and shoot camera.

Mods:

Manley Pistons and Rods - 9.5:1 compression
Forged Crank
HKS 272 cams
Crower Valve springs
Ported head, intake, exhaust
ebay turbo back exhaust
Full ported turboxs o2 housing
1000cc injectors
stock evo VIII turbo - 27lbs
Go Fast Bits BOV
Full turbo piping
stock intercooler
Exedy twin disk clutch with 11lb flywheel
All 3 torque solutions motors mount

Suspension:

GT Worx springs on stock struts
20mm wheel spacers front and back

The only other mods I want to do is turbo upgrade along with all the rexspeed carbon fiber parts and get rid of the purple tint. hehe

What did the dyno tuner say after you busted one of your pistons?

Thanks all. Well I was going 30mph downshifted to second and went wot. It was just a bam and backfire. Pulled the head off to see half a piston missing and 1 bent valve. Anyway the tuner blamed it on the 272s with stock valve springs (bought it that way) or a bad tank of gas. I won't be using him anymore.

Sounds like you went and saw Al from Dynoflash.

I'm in Florida so E85 is located at closest 50 miles to me at the Navy Base in Pensacola. Damn Navy guys get the good stuff. I'm Air Force BTW and have been wanting e85 here on base. There are some guys from pensacola that drive over for our Tuesday night car meet and brag about the 1 e85 station. Makes me Anyway just pump gas for the time being.

As for 9.5:1 comp it feels so good out of boost. The guy tuning my car said it feels different than alot of evos that he has tuned.
