Need your opinion-polishing FMIC

Since I have no money for mods right now, I though of polishing the FMIC end tanks. I successfully polished my manifold heat shield and upper IC pipe. They look like chrome and are holding up well with occasional touch up monthly.

But since getting to the FMIC requires removing the bumper, I don't know if it's worth it. The end tanks look like they will polish nicely and make the IC look aftermarket, but wondering if the elements and water spots will eventually dull it back and I would have to remove the bumper all over again. I wish we could remove the screen from the front.

What do y'all think? Thanks for any replies.

Seems like a lot of work for the end result, especially if you have to do this once a month, but if your bored........

I think it would look great, but the effort to do it may be more than it is worth. If you go ahead and do it and decide it wasn't worth the effort just let it go and don't re-do it when it gets dulled down again.

Nah, don't want to pull the bumper once a month. I'm okay with water spots, but concerned with how quickly it will dull. I'm afraid once you disturb the metal surface, it makes it more vulnerable to the elements and may look worse after time than before I messed with it. It stands out so much by looking at the front. It would look bad *** if highly polished.

I am also thinking about doing this. I have for some time now but unsure how to take the front bumper off. Anyone know how to remove front bumper.

I did a search and it came up in a thread. Not too hard, but time consuming.

Clear coat, or even that press on 3M bug shield stuff would be a damn good idea if you do this.
