Hood Opening Cover - For the DD Evo

I daily drive my evo, but I've never liked how when it rains/snows, the elements are allowed directly into the engine bay.

I came up with the following.

Figured I'd share for all the other DD evos who think like me

its supposed to vent heat isn't it? Wonder what under hood temps would look like.

Maybe I should add, this is ONLY when I'm parked. You can't drive with this on... it flies off. I just don't like how when I'm parked at work all day it just rains for 8 hours into the engine bay... I don't care so much while driving.

I wanted to make something similar for when washing my car (tired of soapy water getting into the engine bay), but seems extremely easy for someone to steal. People love being dicks/haters and stealing ****.

Where do you live I could use this lol. Excellent idea, I get all these stupid little flower things that fall in there when my car is parked infront of my house. This is up on my things to do now!

I'm not concerned about anyone stealing it while i'm washing my car, but I welcome someone to try...

OP is talking about leaving it on while parked in a parking lot or the like.

People in the ghetto/trailer park don't mess with other people in the same environment......they go to get stuff from the areas that are nice. Ghetto/Trailer Park people don't have **** either. LOL.

Yea people are dicks, but I just don't see anyone other than an Evo owner stealing it. It's worth the 60 or so risk to keep **** out of my engine bay :P

If anyone would happen to be interested in one, I can have the waterjetted at work, but I'd need a large-ish number of orders (5 would probably do it).

Not looking at becoming a vendor, I'd probably lose money for the price I'd sell them (which I haven't even figured out). I just have the prototype and I've modified it to fit the opening even better so I'd just be helping the few out who want one.

Just let me know. Again, I'd like at least 5 to say they are in before I even dig deeper into a final price, I'd guess around 50-60. 100 thou thick sheet aluminum with enough seal material to cover the edges.

can just go to home depot and get the magnetic vent covers and just put it on there. who cares about looks when its parked, or cut it out to fit the hood cover, 5 bucks for a pack of 4 iirc.
i've used these magnetic covers for car numbers before, they dont damage paint either, sticks enough to car but easily removable

I'd be interested in one if the price is reasonable. I hate leaving my car sitting out in snowstorms.
