Help with JDM Evo4 bumper & lip
Help with JDM Evo4 bumper & lip
This post is almost identical to the one's in the Suspension section just different questions and pictures.
So i will start off by saying What's up i am new to the forums and I drive a 1996 JDM Evo4 (CN9A)(4G63).
The story goes;
4 days ago I decided to go for a late night drive as I was on my way home about 5 minutes from my place I came around a semi-blind corner that happened to have a house being built in the middle of the turn, as I came around the turn at about 45km/hr I was a bit late noticing a giant chuck of cement foundation in the middle of my lane I tried to avoid it the best I could but my car is pretty low and I ended up striking at an angle
Tearing the drivers side lip off, slightly damaging the bumper, un-rolled part of the fender, broke some connectors and the fender liner, Steel belt in my wheel busted and collapsed my Coil due to the lower spring seat cracking in 3 pieces and the seal busting sending oil everywhere;

I happened to get the fender roll back in place with just a slight wave you can barley even notice. (I will finish later)
I found some information about evo4 mirage conversions and happened to find a evo4 replica bump from Extreme Dimensions for a 1997-2001 mirage

1997-2001 Mitsubishi Mirage 4dr Evo 4 Front Bumper
But after speaking with Extreme Dimensions they say;
"we don’t think this is meant for the JDM version only for the U.S Version,With that said I can not confidently say that this will indeed fit. The choice is now in your hands."
Can anyone tell me if this bumper would possibly work as it looks identical to mine now. The headlights/Fogs, Fenders, & hood on the mirage in the picture look like they have the same shape and position as they are on my Evo4 but I just don't know about the whole US vs JDM problem. I want to keep the stock JDM style so I either need to find out if this bumper would possibly work or where I could find/source a new or good condition JDM 1996 (CN9A) evo4 Bumper.
If none of these options are viable what would be the best aftermarket bumper that I could simply switch out with no modification to fenders etc. yet retain the stock fog-lights which are iconic to the E4
Thanks in advance & Any help on would be greatly appreciated.

Any of the aftermarket front bumpers are going to be made of fiberglass and have poor fitment. Also, where the bumper mounts to the fender may be different. The Evo4 fenders have a bigger fender opening so the bumper is a hair shorter on the Evo4's where it lines up with the fenders. If that bumper is made to US specs, the bumper might not line up with your fender just right. Try to source a used OEM one in the same color as yours. By the time you buy an aftermarket fiberglass piece, prep it, and paint it, it'll be more expensive the OEM.
If you don't mind doing paint work you could always buy this complete clip. It's a good deal for the price and you'll have spare parts for the full front end. Or you could sell what you don't need and make some money back. The parts are already up in Canada so you won't have to deal with customs, I think. Also looks like it comes with the radiator and a fmic.

Wasn't really looking to spend 1k+ on a full clip & I have not much storage space at the moment and need to buy new coil-overs as well as a possible tow and a few other costs.
But thanks for pointing me in the proper direction of getting a genuine JDM bumper, I don't mind about the paint job I know a few people who do amazing work.
I just emailed the company from Ebay asking them if they could source me a single bumper and lip for my car, and the great thing is they are located in Canada so shipping wont be a pain in the *** for me like you said, so thanks again for that. worst case scenario if they cannot find me one i will have to suck it up and buy the front clip if it is still available and sell the parts i do not need, shouldn't take to long to get them gone if needed.
