i know VIS makes a lot of replicas; do you know the original hood VIS replicated, or is this a VIS specific/designed hood?

It's the old Varis hood. VRS is the european version of Varis, so not entirely wrong.

I don't think that car has any Vis parts.

I haven't been able to find any information about this hood. all I could find is the VIS version. where can I get the authentic hood from?
