This is not a myth. If you do a search for one of my post. You will find out that at least from the information i have obtained that rally red is the only one i know of that has no clear coat. I used that same swirl remover you are talking about and paint was coming off my car LOL. I almost passed out. I called Mitsu of America and they had to contact Japan Research and Development to find out if my car had a clear coat. They contacted me 3 days later with a big fat NO YOUR CAR DOES NOT HAVE A CLEAR COAT . I did not get any information of any other color cause i was just concerned of my own. If paint comes off you dont have a clear coat period!! Especially with a very mild abrasive. I have to use Zaino swirl filler and remover. Let me guess when u find the sun spot on ur car u see light swirls. The paint is just ****ty .

I've never gotten a blue cloth from waxing. But then again, I've never waxed the mirrors, I always forget to.

this is a quote directly from thomas fleming from mitchell intl. who is the leading body shop estimating company..

" The vehicle manufacturers are painting edges and undersides with a non-clearcoat material that cannot be duplicated in an aftermarket situation. Let me clarify that: out of the six or seven major paint manufacturers, one does have a single-stage solution. The vehicle manufacturers are moving toward a single-stage solution on the newer vehicles. "

this comes directly from the CIC - collision industry conference association. this is the association all of us body shop people have to be a member of. basically some colors have clearcoat, and some do not, a single stage (which is were the clear is mixed in with the paint) is a cheaper solution. pure and simple. the single stages used to be horrible, but now they are getting better, but still no match for a multistage paint process.

also as a side note, if paint is comming off in your cloths as you wipe them, its not a big concern, all this is is the oxidized portion of the paint being cleaned off. the paint itself is hardened to the point that anything short of rubbing compound will not remove the actual paint itself.

I did zaino my BBY and mirrors too and they were fine.
I would recommend using Zaino and Microfiber towels.. not %100 cotton towels...

This thread is very contradicting. Some know the cars don't have clearcoat, some know they have
Cmon guys, what are the facts and who's the source?
As far as I'm concerned, paint sucks. I have a black one and the whole car has swirl marks all over.
It looks awful if looked from very close. I'm looking to polish it and wax it, hope it turns out better not worse
