Show & Shine - Cleaning the fiddly bits.

Hi everyone. I am about to do a new engine install and now that my old engine is out I wanted to attack the engine bay (tubes, pipes, cables, containers and what not) basically whatever can be cleaned and made to look like new again.

Anyone here have any tips/tricks/advice on how to make a tired old engine bay look new again? I figured there would be a whole lot of elbow grease involved, but any tricks to share, products that work great and so on, would be muchly appreciated.

Cheers.

I used a strong degreaser, a soft bristle brush, and a pressure washer. Make sure you wrap up anything that should touch water, like electrical stuff. I followed up with compressed air.

Diluted simple green and good rag. I usually go back over it with glass cleaner (like windex) on a rag. Use a green scrub sponge (like a dish sponge) for the tough stuff.
